:ahhh: Does anyone have Red-kote (I heard tank kreem sux)? I need some at RA on Wed night or Thursday. Can anyone hook me up? None of the auto/bike shops carry it in my area. Although after reading about it on the internet, some say that radiator shops carry it. I'll call a radiator shop tomorrow. If a radiator shop doesn't carry it, I don't know what I'll do... hope the bbs will help I guess... :ahhh:

Don't know if I'll be able to check this bbs after 2:30 CST, call my cell @ 412-401-1477 (Kris) if you can help.

But the story on my fuel tank:

Ok, so I enlarged my fuel tank. I cut it in half, got some sheet metal, formed the metal then I welded it together. I'm not a nuclear grade welder so its porous: leaking...  :wah:

I tried all night to fix it but there are some 15 pin hole leaks. I checked the leaks using a leakdown gage and good ol spray bottle of soapy water.

Now its past mid-night (tuesday morning) and I have to work at 6am. I'm beat...

I get off work at 2:30pm and am supposed to hit the road and make my way to RA for the thursday practice.

I'm doing the Solo challenge race on friday.

I have a backup tank for practice (nesba trackday) but its not equiped with the dry break. The dry break I'd like to use during the endurance race.

So, again, its down to the last minute...

JB weld will work.

put a coat on and let it dry, add another and let it dry, add a third coat and let it dry, and then coat the whole ugly pile with some real good epoxy.
it'll look like pure crap, but it'll stop anything from leaking if you're in a pinch. at least regular unleaded gas anyway.
not sure how it would hold up to race fuel. i would assume it'll last the 2.5 hour race though.

looks like i'm gonna use tank kreem and allow it to cure during the drive up...
