Hey All...

I have been out of the racing scene for 12.5 years. Back then I was with WERA. 4 and a half years.
My bike is a '90 FZR400 w/600cc and I ran in C-superbike (Novice).
On 6/22, I took the MCRA class at Gateway and passed.
Now that I will be in CCS, What classes are/is the bike eligable for? Yes I'm 43...

Also; I read in the rule book that if I have an 18" wheel, I can change to a 17" as long as it is of the same width, 4".
What bike has a 17"X4" rear wheel will fit my bike? I bought a modified Zuki 17"X4.5" setup on ebay and WAS going to put it on untill I read that rule.
Being such an old bike, and under powered compaired to todays bikes, can I get away with using it? I don't see any advantage on my part with a wheel only a half inch difference...

One last thing, I have another 400/600 and was planning on converting to EFI, same motor, just a change of induction system, no spark.
Will it be eligable for anything or just keep it for street?

Thanks.

P.S.; SuperDave, I took your advice and sent my forks to Lindermann and ordered a shock.
Do you know anyone in StL that can help me get my suspension dialed-in?
Thankx...

Noidly, welcome back!  So let me get this straight, you say that you'll be riding an older, underpowered bike, haven't raced in 12 years...and your 43...hmmmm.  Definitely enter the formula 40, I'm starting to get a good feeling that I wont be the backmarker anymore :thumb: ,Art.

uggh session timed out and I lost my message.

Main question is how many cc actually? is it a 565? FZR600 motor in 400 frame? depending on that it would be light or middleweight category (and up)

The weels are going to be virtually limitless the rule you refernece is in regards to Supersport rules and the engine mods are going to put you in Superbike and Gran Prix classes.

On top of that it would be legal for Thunderbike with Carbs and F40 Light with Thunderbike legal machine.

Hey now. Play nice... HeHe. Your funny. I placed 2nd a few times back in the day. And No, there were more than 2 bikes.

BTW, I noticed your profile doesn't show your age. What are you, 42?

Well, the engine is a "3HH"  FZR600 in a FZR400 frame. I'll check cc's on case.

Your machinery won't be legal in the lightweight classes, Thunderbike or LW F40.

It may be legal in Middleweight Superbike, Middleweight GP or higher class. Of course an FZR600 motor is not very competitive against the other newer motors that are currently on the market.

400 cases = ULW SB or with a 565cc motor LW classes.
600 cases = MW or in the earlier models Thunderbike and LW F40.

We all need to talk...

Does anyone remember seeing a 90' FZR400 (560cc) a couple of years ago smack 700cc SV's and most middlewieghts down??  My buddy (Kent Marquess) was on it, and it was Jason Clay's old bike.  It won Daytona back in the day under heavy protest.  Then I took another 25lbs off of it...  I think it dynoed at 88-90hps.....  And weighed around 295lbs...

Anyone want to build the ultimate LW Superbike..??

"That's what I'm talking about". Completely doable but depends on the rider. My FZR600 has it's hands full against those SB SV and even the stock Duc 1000DS. My FZR630 dynoed at 98 rwhp on the same dyno that the Prieto SV dynoed at right at 100rwhp.

The 560 motor generally doesn't last very long but I guess it depends on who builds it. Also, the 400 cases are become even more scarce. I wonder if CCS will allow the 600 cases to be used as I hear that WERA may have.

I'll have to double check, but I think they would be good to go.  I think that is a 1-WG set, man its been a while.
