one last question - how long of a turn-around can i expect between sending in my app and hearing back from the ccs overlords re: which one of the three numbers they give me - yes i realize that is mostly meaningless, but i've got a fragile ego.

When I applied I had my # in 5 days.  I asked Eric Kelcher (Eric.Kelcher@ccsracing.us) and he replied the same day with my #.  I don't have my license yet but I hear it can take a while as they only do these in batches.  Not a problem though as far as registration.

See you at the races.

One more thing your bike limits your racing classes. You will have to run unlimited with those new GSXR1000s and LOOK OUT :thumb:

And you'll have to REALLY watch out for anyone with a smiley face on their bike. :)

Welcome, btw. You think trackdays are addictive? You aint seen nothing yet. Racing is like heroin and nicotine all rolled up in one neat, insanely expensive package.  :thumb:

bel-biv

yay, i like meth-crack-nico-heroin, yay!!!

thanks again for the insight

and yes, i know me and my rickety 954 are at a distinct hp disadvantage, we'll just have to see what we can put together

see you all out there

i'm planning on touring the pits with my kids at summit on 7/7 to get a handle on how race-days go.
so if you see a dork with 2 kids in a big-ass orange stroller wandering around, wait till i'm out of earshot before you laugh and point.

erik,
stand-by for an email......

first go down to suzuki buy a new gxer 1000  then call yosh and give them your gold ,no platnium card . then take the gold card to GMD. then you might be in the top ten in amatur GTO, if your 18 .good luck busten up those slow ass pro experts in the unlimited  asra class .sorry just saying what everyone is thinking. run ccs this year try asra at Daytona next spring

As a reminder, and to make sure your registration process will go smoother, bring a rider school diploma as proof of successful completion of a riders school.  Also, when at registration, you will need to fill out a CCS license for and a post entry form.  We will assign you a competition number at that time.  Good luck!  And I hope you have fun!

Or just ride the bike you have and learn.....the best gun on the planet won't help much  if you don't know how to shoot it...

I've got no delusions of grandeur.
Club racing is as far as my road-racing "career" is going to go - (so those slow guys in ASRA can breathe a sigh of relief)

Barb,
I'll come find you at Summit (assuming you're going to be there)
I've already sent in my license app and have been in touch with Erik via email.

Thanks for the input and warm welcome.
I'll see you Mid-Atlantic guys out there  - at Summit in Sept.

I won't be at Summit,  but I will be at Road America and all of the Blackhawks.  I hope you have a fantastic time racing!
