I'm assuming there's camping at gateway?  Checked the trackaddix site and it says information coming soon... I'm assuming soon means next week monday  :ahhh:

Anyone know the cost and if/when we can get in on Friday night to set up, when the gates open/close, things like that?

Greg, in the past the gates have closed at like 9pm or so, and you'd end up camping on the road.  Camping, don't try to bring a tent, they're awful hard to stake down to blacktop.  Trailer camping is fine (or always was anyhow).

Don't go out after dark...  :) East St. Louis is a pretty damned scary place...

When I went there on 03, they told me it had to be a "self-contained rv with a bathroom" to which the guard told me, a bucket under a cheap folding chair solved that issue. Weird.

BTW I found it awfully rediculous that a NASCAR facility didnt have showers. Like hell was I going across to the truckstop and paying $10 for one.

Also had to spend the first night at the truck stop (thursday night when I got to the track at 5pm) since the track said they only open the gates for so long. Things may be different now.

Not sure how they're going to handle getting in on Friday.

MCRA has a Track Day that will end about 5pm that will require a different armband.  Dean won't be getting to the track until late Friday afternoon.  Not sure what time armbands would be available until that night.

Track does allow camping.  In the past it has been no charge and there is some grass behind hot pit heading into turn 1.

Showers are an issue.  But the truck stop across the road has just had a major remodel with new owners.  Mississippi River is only about a half mile away if you feel like taking a quick dip!!!

East side of St. Louis has it's advantages and disadvantages - the Illinois State Police are now assisting the local constables and you can buy a drink anytime of the night.

And Sauget still has their 'Performing Arts Theatres'! :thumb:

Dean told me that the gates would be manned 24 hours starting friday night.  No fee for camping.

The gates have always been manned 24x7 at gateway.  Now whether they'll let you in and/or sell you a wristband is another issue...
