P.S even after a few weekends gone wild we all come home..

Listening from my quiet little alcove on the Shen....I must say, Mike, you have been doing an excellent job as control.

You've remained calm and composed in trying situations and didn't let it show at all (at least not over the net).

Maybe, just maybe, others will come over and vist me...I get so lonely...

I will definitely make an effort to get over there to visit!  I am sure you can HEAR me from over there, especially when I'm working the carousel

Hey Allen,

Nope, Not me, Not in Control for the next race weekend.  Doc cleared me to go play and Wendy was so kind as to assign me as an ASD for that one.  I can't wait to get to play with the bikes again.   I did enjoy your company and the pointers you gave me didn't go in one ear and out the other.

I for one am very excited you came back.  You said you genuinely love control and given our (MARRC's) current situation with not having too many experienced people capable of doing control it is awesome you get to do something you enjoy.  And as I remember you are quite good at it as well.

Thanks for the kind words Will.  I try to do my best at everything I do, even things I don't enjoy.  I think I'm addicted to the fumes to be honest and missed getting my fix sitting up there.  It was very interesting and time does fly up there.  Everything that happens you have a part in.  I'll definitely come over and visit and heck we'll all be over there soon enough.  Well most of us, I seem to remember Shen weekends don't bring out as many people.

I will be out of action until late September...nothing serious, just work.

That is awesome Will, looking forward to having you back out there again.  Just wish it was in Cafe, wink wink.  Just kidding, we'll take you any way we can get you.

I know...Sometimes I feel guilty for stepping away from the MARRC Cafe but the chance to manage the Shenandoah Cafe was too big of an opportunity to pass up. I just wish that some of the things that were said by certain people of power didn't occur.  What you ask?  I was told by several people that after I resigned, someone (who will remain nameless) was telling people that I was turning down people who were offering to cook.

While I am a bit of a control freak, for the record, I never told anyone that they weren't welcome to cook.  For example, last year, Tim (I think that was his name, he came with his guy friend and a girl) said he had a BBQ smoker and that he'd love to do a hog or whatever one weekend.  Well they were either out of town or not avail on certain weekends. On the other hand I wasn't going to waste my time chasing people down to cook with/for me.  The ones like Len, Russell and a few others that were there on a weekend-in weekend-out basis were as far as I was concerned my biggest help.  Not someone who mentioned in passing that they might want to cook some weekend.

Don't feel guilty by any means.  Better opportunities arose and you jumped on it.  Nothing wrong with that at all in my opinion.

As far as turning people down I wasn't privy to any of that info.  We are having a hard time trying to find someone but eventually we will.  I remember the Tim deal with the hog and I can't blame you in not wanting to have to hunt people down.  In the meantime the cafe food isn't all that bad IMHO.  Co-ordinating actual times we will end to have hot pizza is another issue altoghether but we do the best we can.
