All,

Well ... today was the first race I ever watched "in person".

Those poor guys got out there and while they were in the starting grid ... it started to rain.  They all had dry tires on ... and it was like watching guys do a frontal assault at Normandy.  Seven bikes went down in turns 1 & 2 right in front of me ... in just two laps.

Mark was on fire on his little GP bike.  He sounded like a pissed-off bumble bee coming around turn 1 and was pulling away ...

I locked my camera onto him ... he was railing ... and then ... WOW!

I was sooo glad to see him get up and walk away.  It was really scary seeing him wreck like that so up-close & personal.

He came by my pit a few hours after this with his wife and I gave him a copy of the footage.  He's just fine.

Step through the clips a frame at a time ... and you really see what happened.

Aww, damn.  Glad to hear he's ok.  Was that in GTL?
I hate summit in the rain.  Actually, I just plain hate summit.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "WOOOHOOO! What a freaken ride"

Yes they declared it wet 15 minutes before the first race. But it wasn't raining enough to switch to rains. I crashed in the same exact spot as him in the first race, in fact it looks like a replay of my crash. The problem is when it is wet the traction on the concrete is decent, but as soon as you exit the concrete there is sealer on the pavement and it is as slick as ice when it is wet.

No better way to crash than on video...  Very cool shot and glad that Mark walked away..

Glad you are okay!  We were in the carousel Saturday and Sunday.  We had to verify several times with Control that you were "okay" then asked to have someone check on you since you have a history of presenting as "fine" and not really being "fine"!!!!

You were running great out there :):)

I heard about it Greg.  Yikes!

Glad you are all together.  Everybody says it was a triple digit crash.
