Producer 1:  "I know!  Let's set up a course with cones, and put a tight turn right by this wall where even a Yugo could hit if it understeers!  No sense using a real track with engineered runoff areas...."

Producer 2:  "Cool!  And we'll put an untrained driver at the wheel.  Somebody who's worth a lot of money as a performer so we can get sued up the wazoo if our makeshift course gets him hurt.
