How does the whole dyno/scale thing work?

I ask because I'm planning on doing the Thunderbike race at HPT which is race 10, and then LWGP which is race 12.  I'm thinking if I have to dyno and weigh, I might have to skip LWGP.  Anyway, any insight on how this works is much appreciated!

If you run the ASRA Thunderbike race, you may get dyno'ed and weighed. They generally only do that to the top 5 in qualifying and the top 5 in the final though.
