The CCS website says the following:

On-Site Amenities:
Camping in Paddock: Limited RV Hookups
$100 for the event - Self contained n/c
Paddock Electricity: $20 for event

Does that mean they're going to charge me $100 to park my RV at the track? Or is that only if I use an RV hookup?

I have been told if you are self contained there is no charge IE run off your generator, use your water, etc

We were not charged last year for camping in our RV.

BE FOREWARNED!!!

If you are intending to use their RV hookups in the lower paddock, the electrical boxes are 50+ feet from the edge of the pavement!  I don't know too many people who have a 50'+ 50amp cord, and anything of that nature is several hundred dollars.  It caused a pretty big issue for us last year and had us relocate to the upper paddock and seek a refund for the RV spot.

They do have some RV spots with electric in the upper paddock but they are VERY out of the way and not really practical for racing.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "WOOOHOOO! What a freaken ride"

It was last year...  You just can't sleep in the garages (not at night anyhow)

Thanks.
I really don't need the hookups, I was just hoping they weren't gonna charge me $100 to sleep at the track.

cold

another note on the lower paddock is that we had several occasions where there was no power at all

You might want to be careful about what time you arrive.

Last year a number of people ASSUMED that they could arrive and set up in the evening (right Jeff???)

Once the registration building is shut down for the day you'll be spending the night outside the track.

Good point Rick!  However, there is MORE than ample room to camp outside the gate.  It's a huge rock-field, but it's level and decent.  Perhaps this year they'll let us in?

HPT

All,

Camping in the paddock for the upcoming ASRA/CCS/USGPRU double sprints event @ HPT is free for competitors, workers, spectators, family and crew. However, electricity/RV hookups and garages are not.

The cost for a secure garage is 200.00 from Thurs. (practice) thru Sun.  electricity, shared compressed air is provided. NO you cannot sleep in the garages due to zoning/safety/insurance issues (exhaust, fumes, etc.); track policy.

As Jeff identified, electricity/RV hookups are 75.00 for the entire event, Thurs. (practice) thru Sun. which includes access to the dump station and non-potable water, located outside gate E and reserved parking, lower paddock.

RV spaces & Garages can be reserved online here: http://hpt.com//store/catalog/index.php?cPath=31
As well, both can be reserved @ Registration (gate E) during Thurs. practice and day of event.

Last, to save $15.00 on practice, register online for 85.00 versus 100.00 day of event here:
http://hpt.com//store/catalog/index.php?cPath=1_14_42

On the topic of gate access / entry to the paddock, Thurs. gates open 7:00a for practice; remaining open for registration in the afternoon and upto 9:00p that evening for late arrivals. If you arrive on Weds., there is ample staging area outside gate E near the tunnel entrance.

Hope to see everyone at the event.
