Had a good time at NFMP this weekend, ran some of my fastest times ever, and placed 4rth in LW Superbike and MW Sportsman.  I should have entered more races, but since it was my first race weekend back in a while, I decided to take it slow.  Sorry I didn't get to meet some of you guys.

Anyway, does anyone know what the deal was with camping?  I know NFMP allows camping, so I don't understand why we didn't get to stay.  Apparently there was some issue with CCS?  Liability?

CCS

Insurance would not have been the question, since we were covered from Friday through Mid-night Sunday. My guess would be the track trying to charge CCS Florida extra for camping and security, but I will ask Henry for sure.

Glad to hear you did well.

Second hand information I head was that Henry didn't want to pay for any overnight security...so instead of getting to stay by our stuff, most people left their stuff out and went to hotels or to the "staging area", which was inside the gates but away from our stuff.  How silly does this sound?

Track was excellent, great traction, the pits well they have alot to be desired, no bathrooms really sucked no running water other than a hose in middle of paddock.

spoke directly to Henry Degouw, and he stated that the camping was not inside due to security reason's. not money. camping was free on all the rest of the 300 acres . if you needed to work on your bike they would allow you to work on your bike outside the paddock. He did state this was a spectator event and they could not control camping inside paddock, so they made the choice to keep all bikes and equipment safe. only track personell and security was there anyways over night to keep out unwanted guest's.

Dude, the bathrooms were in the big trailer. It had three shower stalls with HOT water. I know cus I used them every day.

As far as camping, Henry did want us camping there. He is the only one that knows why. Camping has never been an issue at Roebling Road, I don't see why it would be one at NFMP. I camped in the paddock Thursday night and behind the barricades the rest of the weekend. The only time I saw security was in the morning when they started to let people into the paddock area.

I don't see why Henry would have to pay anyone for us camping, as we would be paying NFMP to camp. ($5 a night)  And with most everyone camped next to there stuff, why would there be a need for extra security?

Good job, what kinds of lap times do you manages?

I had a miserable weekend. Did some dumb thing that cost me both of my races. When I did iron out my issues, my lap time came down to low 1:30's with a best time of 1:28 flat Sunday Morning.

But I messed with front tire psi in the first race that made my bike unridable. In turn one, I could not hold my line and went clear off the track.  I did two laps and got off.

In the second race, I forgot to safety wire the rear axle nuts and they came loose during the race. :( :o

I wonder where I would have finished in the Middleweight Sportsman and LW Superbike races with my lap times?  :(

Well, you probably woulda done pretty good running those lap times.  I'm a novice, and my best times were in the LW Superbike race, low 1:30's.  I'm pretty happy though, as I beat my previous fastest by 2 seconds and became consistent!  I would have placed better two if I had more guts to pass people.  I got hung up behind an SV650 for three laps or I would have finished second in LW Superbike :(.

I was there racing in the MW classes.  Does anybody know who the photographer was that was in the back section and how to get in touch with him? And the status of the guy that went off in to the woods and needed to be airlifted?

BTW I was doing 1:25s on my F3.
