Has anyone researched this or use this product.  I have read about it heard from several on its benefits.  But none came from Motorcylce Road Racers, all were Motocross, Karts and Cars.

Having suffered a few breaks in '05 and having seen a few incidents last year I was wondering if this would be a worthwhile investment.

I don't believe I have seen any AMA, WSBK or MotoGP rider with such a device.  So I figured I would reach out to the others that ride at the same tracks I do.

A guy I sponsored in off road racing, buggies/trucks, uses one.  We were talking recently, exchanging ideas on common stuff, and it came up.  He loves it.  Talked to him about the mobility thing, and he said it wasn't a problem.

That's all I know at this point.

I have a hard time believing this would work well in a road race scenario because it would interfere with your head movement.  I know some people who have tried to use a neck roll which is common with the karters, and some have had luck with those if they are thin enough.  I used the one I had from when I ran shifterkarts, and it really got in the way, but it isn't one of the thin ones.  You are welcome to try it.  If you don't have a clue what I am referring to, look at the bottom of the page on this link:

I will have to give them a call and see what they say about it.  Thanks for the info.

I`ve had certain brands of leathers with an aero hump on the back that actually rubbed on my helmet (yes! rub my helmet!) while riding. Kinda irritates you making hard to concentrate. More power to ya if you can wear one though. Sure would be safer.

Motorcross riders aren't tucked in like road racers, they sit more upright.  I can't imagine that you'd be able to tuck-in and keep your head in a position that would allow you to see with that brace on.

Anthony,

I raced with this collar for part of the 06 season-

I had no mobility problems. I understand one of the premium benefits is protection of your collarbone since the majority of breaks are caused by the helmet impacting your clavicle. I even crash tested it at HPT. The race collar disappeared in the crash truck on my ride back to the pits...probably because I was a little whooosy and forgot about it. I am going to get another one for this season.

i've seen that one at the track before. i like the design of that other one though. if it would allow you to turn your head i'd buy one for sure.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "WOOOHOOO! What a freaken ride"
