And the money would be used for?

Gas is pretty cheap compared to a lot of stuff.  Cheaper than Coca-cola.

Exxon-Mobil made some big money, but thier profitability, their margin, is still lower than Microsoft.

In 2005, their last record of taxes, they paid over $23 billion on profits of a little above $59 billion.  That's almost 40%.

Clinton is saying that their "tax breaks" need to end.  I guess she'll use that money that the shareholders call profits into something else.

Does government execute anything very well other than the US Military and the US Post Office?  Still have costs, but they get their jobs done.

The government does not run the US Postal Service any longer, and if you think the military is run efficiently, spend one day on any base in the US and you will think differently.

clinton just needs something to get the people on her side. everone already dislikes the gas comps. so it would be an easy subject for her to talk about. but it'll never happen i'm sure.

Someone needs to get close enough to Billary to ask her what percentage of the price of a gallon of gas goes to state, federal and local taxes....
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

Ok, so that worked like I wanted it to...

So, everyone agrees that the government doesn't spend money well, and they shouldn't over tax corporations?
Super Dave

no one should be over taxed. even the gas comp. they'd just raise the price of gas and oil to offset their in pocket loss anyway.

buisness and corporate taxes are a myth.... the customer(us) is who really pays through higher prices.  :spank:

I'd say that means if some get the additional taxes added on oil companies, their costs will rise, which mean everyone's costs rise.

Where's that "the poor get hit more with this" card?

And what is the cost of having a continuing supply?

As an example, I was sponsored by a company with a decent program.  But since I was lucky, the things I needed weren't in stock.  So, I had to pay more to get it elsewhere.  Gasoline and diesel would just cost more in a market with spotty supplies.
