Moroso October 6-7 Moves to Jennings GP
« on: January 17, 2007, 07:34:19 pm »
Due to construction of the road course and drag strip at Moroso Motorsports Park, the October 6-7 CCS/Florida event has been moved to Jennings GP and will be a combined Florida & Southeast Regions race. All pre-entries will be moved to Jennings unless otherwise notified. Previous cancellations (July 28-29 & August 25-26) were announced for the same reason. Those entries will be destroyed. One of those is being replaced at Roebling Road on June 9-10 and will be a Southeast, Mid-Atlantic and Florida Regions race. Entries for that event should be sent to the CCS Texas office. We apologize for the inconvenience to some riders but the "new" Moroso will be worth it. With the entire facility set for major renovations, Moroso will be one of the premier race tracks in the country.

Henry they have run that config.with minor changes and surface for many many years. I think this is way overdue. I'm sure the cost is huge and has been the major obstacle. I know a lot of guys have been hurt at this track simply because of not having enough run off. Jim is a good example last summer and myself in T2 with a dirt bank less than 20 ft off track. I always felt I had to hold back a little at this track as opposed to Homestead which appart from turn7 is very safe. I know comparing HMSP to MMSP is like apples to oranges given cost and size. I only hope That they take extra precautions to give us some more run off. Did pressure from CCS or any of the other org's. cause this change or is this something they wanted to do? In any event I'm glad they are making it better. I've been going there as a spectator and a racer since I was very young and look forward to many returns. Wow to think no more mayhem at the bus stop!!
