Dang, hunting from a condo ........... we still hunt ours the old fashioned way, we earn them.

No kidding. Although we dont have hunting party's like we used to. Set up the best shooters out on the ends and have 6-8 people driving the woods towards them. Now I just sit on top of a bluff, open the bipod up and wait. Only down side is climbing back down the bluff to get to the deer that fell 700-1000 yds out.

Dont know why people look at me funny out in the woods. (Actually I havent taken this hunting, yet. Its bad enough tramping through the woods with a 8lb bull barrelled Rem700BDL .300. Dont really want to try to carry about 35lbs through the woods all day)

Damn it!  you beat me to it...

Do send our congratulations to her.  135 yards with a 12ga slug is VERY impressive...  I seriously doubt that I'd even attempt that shot let alone make it...

Thanks!

Because we're in open country Renee uses a sabot instead of a slug.  That provides a flatter trajectory and longer range.

That kid can't sit still so we need something to hide the fidgeting.  Plus with our rolling land that we have the additional height allows us to see "most" of our 40 acres.

We've hunted on the ground or in tree stands for years.  This is much nicer.

Has Renee considered competitive shooting?

I think she would be good at it.  You should see her with the Winchester .22  :thumb:

Although with student council, band, jazz band, basketball, track, cross country, and other school activities, we don't need anything else added to our schedule.

How about judo?  You can't always count on the boys to be 135 yards away.
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

Understand the fidgeting. I know some adults that can't sit still long enough to see a deer. One of them is my brother in law that hunts with us.............like to tie him down sometimes.

Got a doe opening morning myself. Nice to restock the freezer with fresh venison.

Good shooting Renee.
