Dunno where that quote came from because talking to him he likes elevation changes as much as any other racer I know, he even brought in dirt to create the corkscrew area at Miller.  Now granted from a spectator viewpoint flat is better.  Roadracing tracks will always be compromise facilities, there's no way to make it perfect for everyone.

The pit entrance at Autobahn isn't what I would call  a damn good layout!!
