Luggage for Leathers/Helmet/etc?

Does anyone have any good recommendations for luggage to transport your leathers, helmet, gloves and boots? I'm assuming all of that won't fit into something that will be allowed as carry-on, so it would have to be sturdy enough to withstand the checked baggage handling, and protect the helmet as much as possible.

Are there specific products made to transport race gear?

Thanks...

I have travelled with the Scorpion Helmet Bag (and even checked it).  Very durable and the best I have seen.  For travelling with gear (leathers, boots, etc...)  I use a Rosignol rollable bag.  Its made for skiing but works great.  Has a big upper compartment that fits lots of gear and a zippered lower that is somewhat waterproof for any wet/stinky items.   I think I picked mine up after ski season for a good discount  Not sure what they would cost this time of year.

If I travel with a helmet, I carry it on. When the flight attendant said it had to fit under the seat (it wouldn't), I offered to wear it. She let me keep it between my feet on the floor.

That would have been cool if she would have said you had to wear it.  :lmao:

Sorry, just found the imagery really funny.  :biggrin:

+1 on the Scorpion case.  I love mine.  I loaned it to a friend, and she used it as a carry-on, stuffing extra items inside her helmet.  She said it was the perfect solution for a flight, and by keeping the lid with her she knew it hadn't been tossed around or dropped.
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

Thanks for all of the replies. I found an Ogio 9900 bag on clearance for $99. Supposed to have a spot for a helmet, etc. If I'm not comfortable with how the helmet area looks, I'll look into getting a Scorpion case as well.

Is it March yet?   ::)

I have a monster Joe Rocket bag which is large enough for everything and sturdy enough to be tossed about.  Wheels, handle & all.

Not sure if they're still making them, but if so, it is worth the $150...

I carry on my helmet at all times.  I've acutally had to put it on on the plane to make sure that is what it really was.  I normally just keep it between my feet.  As for the rest of my gear I just got a normal rolling suitcase from wal mart and packed everything in that.  I do gloves between the handle rails, back protector on top of that, then leathers, then boots on either side.  I can fit my shorts and shirt in the zip pocket and all the other little crap (ear plugs etc) in there too.  I've never had a problem with it at all.
