One fun track, reminds me of a mini Road Atlanta, the jump rocks!  As for the surface, it might more dangerous if they completely repave it. Ran there last year for a North Central event. Even had one race in some wet/drying conditions, not to bad, a good remedy to the majority of "flat" tracks out there. It was quite entertaining watching the dirt bikes across the track.  I will definetely be back there next year.  In a word, rollercoaster.  Even downtown Greenville was a riot, karaoke bar, great small town atmosphere, going to bed at 3:30 am...it was worth it.

I started off taking track days here but I have not been back in a few years.  I think that everyone should ride here to know what its like to not see your apex or exit, basically trust the bike and you.  Turn 3 is kind of crazy.

What is the story behind Grattan, why don't we go there?  I think it was part of GLRRA at one point,  and does WERA still go there?

I haven't been on a worse track since Summit Pt in 99 before they repaved it and they had orange paint and cones on the track to keep you out of pot holes.

Jeff, how quickly you forget Heartland Park before the repave!  I remember we were asking Tommy Mason for knobbies.  That "pavement" and those concrete walls reminded me of home, I.E. the Dan Ryan at the height of construction season....
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

Nothing for me to forget K3...  Never ran there until this year! :-)

I also like Grattan although it marked my first track crash ever (earlier this season).  Lost the front end at T10 (tightest on the course) after passing a couple of buddies.  The pavement is pretty bad - really needs to be fixed but the track rules.  The St@#$$ jnt in Grand Rapids isn't so bad either!!

Dan you forgot to list your new car in your signature.  Every track is safe as long as you don't crash.

I'm in - Grattan is the first track I ever raced on, probably have more laps there then I do at any other track even though I haven't raced there in a couple of years.  I agree that the surface isn't the best but it's the same for everyone.
