I have nothing against Nate Kern and as a matter of fact....I just met Ed Key's for the first time at the ROC during tech. Me being an Unlimited rider on a Gixxer 1k...my interest in SV's/BMW's is minimum at best.

However over the last year Ed Key's name has come up numerous times on the WERA board. Most the post are about how Ed Keys knows how to manipulate the rule book in his favor...some post even lean towards cheating. After reading all this I was really interested in seeing his bike.

On the other hand...Last year my friend/co-creator of AllStoneArmy.com Alan Chook was taken out by Nate. Alan suffered what all of us that race fear...getting taken out from behind by someone trying to make the impossible pass. Nate did just that....

Alan has spent the better part of the year recovering mentally for this takeout. Matter of fact...him just finishing this year at the ROC was a huge accomplishment. I personally dont think that Nate wishes contact with other riders. I just question his judgment when making a close passes.

Alan has posted up some of his thoughts here....  http://www.allstoneallthetime.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3070

So you link to a thread on your board that links back to 2 threads on this board.  While near slamming Ed, and dragging more of the Alan vs Nate drama into the public.

Motorcycling is not, of itself, inherently dangerous. It is, however, extremely unforgiving of inattention, ignorance, incompetence, or stupidity

Calling Ed a "Near-Cheater" for his creative assessment of the rulebook is no slam.  The man is exactly that, and damn proud of it.  In fact, Ed is as near as you can stand to being a cheater without ever cheating.  To quote the late Mark Donohue, Mr. Key is always looking for the "Unfair Advantage."  The amount of time and thought invested in his bikes is almost beyond belief.  You could stare for hours and still keep finding stuff.  I helped repair one of Ed's machines in a between-races thrash, and after seeing it with the bodywork off, I'm still recovering mentally myself.  No one will beileve that I've seen a UFO from another galaxy, but I did!  Worked on it too.  And the beast is 100% legal.  Go ahead and protest it if you want to. Ed really ENJOYS taking other people's money!

Interesting post about your teammate, though.  I've seen Ed do the pick before, (even BEEN the pick) and he's right.  It's a legal, acceptable, and totally safe move as long as the pursuing rider has a modicum of respect for the lapped rider.
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

Okay guys, we're gonna lock this one too.  If you want to continue pointed, personal attacks/questions/debates, do it via email, PM or back-alley rumble.  Not here.
