Thats Exactly What Road A-ASRA/CCS needs!!!!
Congrats Kevin and Team!
Jeff,

looks like this may have to be one of the events that you try to race next year....

Wow.

This is a really good thing for CCS, I hope it is everything that all of us that have been wishing for a Road A summer event, needs to be.

Great Job

Probably back at BHF like they used to. Personally I'd rather deal with colder weather than extreme heat. But on the other hand, I think its best NOT to have RA as the first race of the year. Alot of people wont drive to Topeka. Liked teh old BHF 2nd weekend in april, RA last weekend in april setup.

Oh, Don't worry. It'll rain. I plan on going, and it always rains at least one day.

How about an ASRA/CCS event at HPT?

That would make a lot of sense...  The weather there, or at MAM would be best.  The travel would be an issue for some, but I think that travel early in the season is probably more favorable than mid/late season.

I'm still just in awe and jazzed over this date (if it sticks).  It'll be like old times with 70 bikes on the grid...

Weather can still be an issue.  That's good tornado time of year, but it's likely to be more reasonable than near the Great Lakes.  70 bike grids?  Maybe if the track didn't charge CCS so much and CCS didn't have to charge so much for races at an event like the one at Road America.  There was a time when we raced at Road America with CCS three times in a year in the 90's.

I guess I want to know when the AMA event is.

Jeff

not so long ago, like 01, 02, we ran Road A 2x per year and the grids sold out on several races.

Where is CCS racing in April?  It's a toss up between Nepal or the Northpole.

Yeah...Brainerd is alot closer, so that makes more sense.  Should I contact Polaris about putting up contingency money?  I think we'll need a run on hand warmers, de-icers, shovels, and long underwear.

Personally I would much rather have a track like Road America being on the schedule during the hot weather. Because it's a long, fast track it helps to keep air moving thru the radiator and across your leathers and has several places you can catch your breath between turns. Being that it's currently the Midwest Regions most Northern track, and that it's in a forest, both help to keep the heat a little more reasonable - after all, why be miserable if you can avoid it by some strategic scheduling like this! I'm not a big fan of going to tight twisty tracks in the hottest part of the summer, your bike gets really hot, the riders get really hot, and you never get a break while out on the track which just makes the effects of the heat even worse.

I always liked the 1st event being at Heartland Park, most the times the weather was decent for being at the end of March (though there were a couple times I went that were damn cold in the early morning practice session, but it was usually decent by race time). If that were the kick off event at the start of April I think that would be great, I would sure go, but I'd go even if it was late March again. Not sure that MAM would really be any better weather than Blackhawk Farms at that time of season, MAM really is not much further South than BFR and still gets alot of it's weather influence from the North (while HP is influenced more from the Gulf to the South).
