Military job.

I work for a company that manufactures siren and PA systems.

This is a huge order for mobil sirens. Each mobil siren needs a generator to charge the 24 volt DC system.

Thanks Mr. Jeff Kulfalk (SP?)

I appreciate it.

How often do the sirens run and what is the charge rate of the batteries? 6500watts is almost 300Amps at 24 volts! If the use/draw is not too high have you considered solar? No maintainance, no fuel. I don't know your specs so I'm just sort of thinking loudly......

no problem man...  not too often when you get a call like that. :-)

Depending on what they are using the siren for, it could run for (worse case scenario) hours and hours at a time. Especially with the use of PA. This is worst case scenario. Our standard AC (24 volt DC) battery charger (depending on the condition of the batteries) never draws more than 6 amps.

We do have a standard solar interface, but this is the military and this is what they want. They are aware of what we offer. Previously, a couple years ago, I helped design and build a mobile siren for the military with solar panels and the military kept breaking the panels. They are very fragile. So they opted for a generator on this batch of units.

Yes I do realize that 6500 watts is overkill. The customer is always rite.  ::)

I guess no one ever accused the government of being overly bright, and especially with the government "the customer is always right" never rang truer

Charge them $70,000 each for the set up. You will be cutting them a deal.

Do or do not, there is no "try".
