RED FLAG FUND FORMED TO BENEFIT INJURED RACERS

New Fund to Aid Injured Motorcycle Roadracers

Sussex, WI - (Sept. 25, 2006) Organizers of a new benefit fund, the Red Flag Fund, have announced plans to assist injured motorcycle roadracers and help fill the void left by the dissolution of the Wegman Benefit Fund,
which has a 20-year tradition of helping racers in need. The new Red Flag Fund will continue the important work of raising and distributing money to injured motorcycle roadracers who face massive medical bills.

"When my wife Jennifer and I first heard that Gordon Lunde was dissolving the Wegman Benefit Fund after so many years of dedicated service to the racing community, we felt the need to take action," said founding Red Flag Fund board member Jeffery Kufalk. "We both felt a strong desire to continue this tradition, so we started plans to form a new fund that will serve as a successor to the Wegman."

When contacted, Gordon Lunde had this to say about the new fund, "I wish the Kufalk's good luck in their new venture with the Red Flag Fund. I hope they'll enjoy the support of the roadracing community as the Wegman Fund has over the past 20 years. The Wegman Fund will continue assisting injured racers through November 2006. At that time any remaining funds will be distributed to the Roadracing World Action Fund, MRO and funds assisting injured racers to include the Red Flag Fund."

Board members of the Red Flag Fund include: founding member Jeffery Kufalk, a veteran roadracer and owner of Kufalk Media; Jennifer Kufalk, who works as office manager of Action Power Sports in Waukesha, WI; Alexa Krueger, a former roadracer and owner of Spyder Leatherworks; Paul James, an active roadracer and communication manager at Harley-Davidson Motor Company; and Bill Ritger, long time motorcyclist and President of the Midwest Safety Crew, a respected corner working organization.

Red Flag Fund, Inc. is non-stock, non-profit company formed to provide financial assistance to seriously injured motorcycle roadracers, as well as educate motorcycle riders on the importance of proper safety gear. For more information, go to www.redflagfund.org

We are honored to try to fill Gordon Lunde Sr's shoes. The 20th and final Wegman auction was a big success. Events included Gordy's farewell speech, a very nice presentation of plaques to those who have helped the fund in the past (thank you Gordy, that was totally unexpected), and an introduction to the new fund.

The highlight was a kick ass presentation of a Suzuki DR650 to Gordon for his dedication and support of the sport. He was totally floored. Of course, later that evening, the bike was to be found in the ladies bathroom covered in toilet paper, a Wegman night tradition. :biggrin:

The lowlight was SuperDave gettin' almost naked, but he did raise $352 by showing off his shaved ass.   :wtf: :lmao:

The total for the evening was over $10,000, pretty good considering the competing events and the fact that it rained all day.

Thank you to everyone for your past support of the Wegman Benefit Fund. We will be carrying on that tradition in the future with the Red Flag Fund. Visit www.redflagfund.org for more information

Since our press release hit, here are a couple of FAQ's for everyone.

* Is the Red Flag Fund federally exempt (tax deductable donations)?
   - At this moment, no.  We are in the process of gaining our exemption and expect a ruling within the next 45-60 days.  However, any donations made between now and the time we receive a ruling would be deductable and federally exempt if we do receive the favorable ruling which we expect.

* Can you take credit cards?
   - We are in the process of setting up credit card servicing and expect to have this in place before the end of the year.

* Do you take PayPal?
   - Yes!  Donations can be made to - paypal@redflagfund.org

Thanks for the support and questions.  Keep them coming!

-Jeff

Thanks Heather.

Sorry, we already sold them to Road Racer Babies for $250,000.  Haha!

Anyway, I just dropped off a little seed money for the fund via paypal in honor of the fund's inception!

Good luck!!!

Thank you Heather!! I'd have to check, but aside from the board's own pockets, you could be our official first donor!!

get your tax-deductible thing going on and i'll donate a business class color laser printer that can do duplex prints.  will save you big bux when it comes to doing brochures, mailings, certificates, photo prints, etc.  its big in size, and was "the coolest thing ever" back in 2001 when it was worth the princely sum of $4000.  also includes a 500 sheet extra paper tray and whatever media i have left (paper, labels, certificates, ink blocks)
http://www.office.xerox.com/color-printers/phaser-850/spec-enus.html

it takes solid ink.  and black ink is "free" for life.  the color stuff is spendy, especially if you go with "xerox" brand. http://www.office.xerox.com/color-printers/phaser-850/supl-enus.html

i used an online reseller called InkSell with good luck (and savings) when i was running my 4WD company off this printer. http://inksell.com/phaser850.html

also, random binders, folders, office supplies i can toss in.

i crashed pretty hard this year, and was fortunate to be covered by phenomenal health benefits....

let me know
D
