IMO, there should be some vehicle for disseminating info re: kit problems, without putting oneself in danger of legal liability. In matters of safety, we have to watch each others backs (no pun). On the other hand, no one wants a situation like what happened to Simpson Safety Equipment over Dale Ernhardt's death.

Without passing any judgement, reporting what equipment a racer was wearing, and the injuries sustained. That would allow people to reach their own conclusions based upon something more relevant than a manufacturer's advertising, or rumors.

I can't in good faith reveal the brand name here on the forum.  I shared it with Alexa due to the nature of her business, her experience in dealing with most every brand out there and the professional standards she maintains.

As was noted here already, there are too many variables that I have no first hand knowledge of.  (exact crash details, age of the leathers, etc.)  I do know that the leathers would have had to be passed through Tech. (Maybe by me, I don't recall exactly).

This brings up a good point.  I know it's a headache for you guys (and Becca) to bring all of your gear with you to go thru Tech.  What if we didn't require that?  Most of you wouldn't think of using defective equipment.  Unfortunately, there are a few out there who go with the cheapest stuff they can find and in some cases keep using stuff long after it should be replaced.  Not saying that was the situation here - just that some people need to be protected from themselves!!

Alexa, how much are we talking for a basic suit? I know any custom graphics and other stuff are extra but what's a base price?

Base suit (for 2007 only, then the price will go up) will be around $1200-1500, depending on graphics and features. Included in the price will be a basic graphic design, your name on the back and up to 8 patches per set. Riders will be asked to provide feedback to us so that we can improve on comfort and features. I'm planning to have a set ready in the next 6-8 weeks for folks to check out.

We intend these to be high end custom leathers with some exclusive features and customization second to none. After all the time I've spent taking other leathers apart and seeing what really works, I feel we can offer the best product out there.
