As some of you know, I had been the one concerned with regard to racer response to flags. As much as I can complain, I can give my kudos as well.

This weekend, the corner I was working had a couple of occasions where you riders' response to the waving yellow and red flags was fundamental in my ability to assist riders & bikes in areas that would have, had you all had been blowing the flags, not have been an option.   :ahhh: I am sure the down riders appreciated the quick response we were able to give, as would all of you.

There was ONE incident that I am aware of of a SINGLE rider running the red, but I will let CCS deal with them.

Hey Jason, how's the hand?  I heard it got mangled.  I was in T1 watching, saw the other guy go down at the apex and then get up.  I couldn't figure out why the ambulance was coming.  That's when I saw you deep in 1.

Did the chain come off after the crash?  Or was that part of the cause?

LilJayRR

I broke the 2 bones in my left hand between my wrist and the knuckle for my pinky and ring finger. Its black and blue, and swollen like crazy. Boy does it hurt!!  :wah:

Looks like VIR is out of the question.

I had to wait to make turn 1 because I checked up from the guy crashing and went wayyy wide, all but off the track. Then I got in a hurry and hit the gas too hard too soon, lost traction and highsided.  :banghead: The chain came off during the crash, and wasnt the cause.

HEY!  I'm the one who pulled your bike off the side of the track!  The reason I was able to do so?  BECAUSE ALL THE RACERS were actually paying attention to the waving yellow, though, as stated before, I am sure it was confusing since there was a bike in the gravel as well....maybe when that happens we should hold a big 2 board to let you all know there are TWO bikes down in that corner!

Sorry to hear about your hand!  Similar to Spies' injury huh?  The bike didn't seem too bad off...what's the verdict?

Bike isnt bad. The subframe is bent  and it needs some body work.  nothing that a few $'s cant fix!

I have an apt with a othopedic doc tomorrow to get a cast (if i need one) etc.. better safe than sorry, plus the ins. is paying.

Tell everyone that responded (medical) etc.. that I said THANKS!!!!

I was behind you when it happened, I saw a puff of smoke from the rear tire then it bucked you off.  The guy that went down in T1 before you was trying to out brake me and tucked the front, then bam!  He's down.  Seconds later you get thrown off!  I was like WTF!  Am I next?!?!

That was a crazy race to say the least.

BTW:  This is Edmond; we met a Barber and had dinner at Outback.  I was pitted with Robbie W. and his dad at Summit.

LilJayRR

I would assume the puff of smoke was from the rear tire (kinda like doing a burn out) and since i was leaned over it came around, and once it caught again it highsided and bucked me off. I didnt want to loose any possitions and was way too eager to get back on it.  I was running 3 sec faster this weekend from the last time I was at Summit and everything was feeling realy good untill that point.

It would be nice to see it on video or pics. Maybe someone caught it ??

It took about a min or so for it to hit me and the pain to set in, when it did holy $%$# it hurt. VIR is out so it looks like the season is done for me, unless I can make it back in time for Daytona. The ER Doc said 6-8 weeks to heal  :ahhh:

How did you do this weekend? I am still waiting to see the results from Sun posted.

There were a few photographers in the turn, one being Pete his web site is p_migala@mac.com  Unfortunately, everyone may have been focused on the original accident.  He usually takes a little time to get the pics up, but he's a really nice guy
