Didnt you get the memo Brian? You have to get permission from 5 racers and 6 cornerworkers before you can quit racing.

I thought you dumped the SV trying to get on. How, and I MEAN HOW tall is that 125 cause I dont think its dirtbike tall?  :err:

On another note:

After racing 24 out of the last 26 years I have decided there are other things I would like to do.
September Blackhawk will be my last race.

For once I don't know what to say....
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

You and Kathleen will be missed.  Guy, looks like you're still in the running for that award.

So, how much for the SV?

Quitting racing will not prevent a person from receiving the coveted award

Hey Brian,

Just want to let you know that you helped me out a lot with the sport. You were there along with Rick Breuer, Dean Hagaman and Jason Damico to help me learn the ropes. I showed up at BHF in the summer of 2001 not knowing a damn thing about road racing and you guys helped me out and tried to answer any newbie questions I had. In fact I didn't even know anybody in the pits. I just knew I wanted to ride my motorcycle on the race track. You guys helped me feel at home. CHEERS TO THAT MAN! And thank you for all the tips and advice you gave me. Thanks for the advice you gave me corner working at Road America too. You are truely a mentor of the sport. You won't be forgotten in the pits and at the race track.

I was there and watched it from the tower. Once we saw that he and his bike were alright, the moment set in and the giggles began. THEN, when seeing the video of it, it bacame apparent, we had just witnessed a "Mr. Potatohead" award before our eyes! This year we'll hopefully be able to see the video at the awards banquette. Can't wait!  :lmao:

24 years of racing!? Man, I thought I was an old timer...

After your racing sabbatical, will you come back and tell us all about the big, bright world outside Blackhawk Farms?? Then we'll try to convince you to come back and complete your quarter century of racing.

Seriously, Brian, you will be missed.

Kim - you (and I, and Don) were in that '02 mach race when Brian had the major on the front stretch.  I remember the surprise when the red flag & ambulance flag turned out to be real.  Good luck in future endeavors Brian.

Remember that also. Was working in turn 1 when that happened. All I saw was dust and dirt everywhere near the tower.

Brian,

Thanks for everything.  The knowledge you imparted to me in the LCR class has been invaluable in my first year of roadracing.  I wish I could talk you into changing your mind...guys with your level of knowledge don't come around every day.  We're going to miss you in the paddock.  Wherever you go, keep the rubber side down, and best wishes in your endeavors.

That's right... it's all coming back to me now.

Brian, you're settin' up to be the world's coolest Dad.  I wish you guys all the love in the world.
