I do not understand what has happened to the track championship.  I thought that the track championship was earned by one expert and one amateur based on your selective points total.  This year it is broken down into separate classes with leaders in each class.

Does this mean that there is a BHF track champion for each class?  If so will these championships count towards an amateur to expert bump?

Guy, check w/ Kevin Elloitt, as I thought that perhaps that program was discontinued. I could be wrong, so go to the source.

It's in the rulebook.

Yes, there is a championship for each class.  Points will count towards the expert bump.

I know that the points count towards the bump, I would like to know if the track championship itself forces a bump.  The rule book states that a top 5 finish in any national race and winning any class shampionship is an automatic upgrade.  The rule book does not say anything about the track championship forcing a bump.

It is not that it is a big deal, I will probably go expert next year anyway, just curious

I don't know how realistic it would be to land a track championship without logging enough points to be advanced to expert.

Besides, what's the incentive to stay amateur?

you are right they probably go hand in hand.

Incentive is only contingincies.  It seems to be kinda hard to beat Key.

You kind of have a hand up in that you pit with him.

You can start your own stratagies to "Beat Key" list:

*Sew his gloves shut

*Ben Gay in his tattered blue bicycle pants.

*Spray fake frost on his glasses

*Have sponsor hold his "pajamas" hostage

*Replace RedBull with Mai Tais

I'm sure you can think of a few more.
