hey anybody know if barnicle bill racing leathers r good or not i got some and wanna know if any one road tested these yet?

Super Dave

I use Vansons, but I believe that what I've heard is that BB leathers are sturdy and well made.  You're getting value for your money.

Someone should come with some real answers.

Call Mid Illini Motosports 309-353-7223 and ask for Mitch (owner). He has a suit made by Bill. I have had Bill do some alterations to my off the rack Teknic suit and been very happy. Not too mention --- he is a very cool guy and one of the most hospitable people I have ever met.

Hope this helps.

I have a suit made by Bill. Great Suit. I actually went to pick it up over in KY to be sure it fit me properly seeing i wouldnt have recieved it in time to return it, long story short it fit like a glove. Ive crashed them once tucking the front in 6a (bhf) going pretty quickly and they worked great, seams held up very well and every part of my body that wacked the ground was coverd by his armour. So i vote BB, though i havent had a vanson suit before, im sure both are great. Also Bill was great to deal with, my only suggestion is to be sure you take you time with a person who knows what they are doing on the measurments, he builds them very close to spec, and if the measurments are off the suit wont fit as well as it could.

i had several repairs to my old suit done by bill and he did such a great job that when he told me that it was done for i never thought about going anywhere else but ordered a custom from him. the only suits i will wear will have his BB on the shoulders. he currently has my suit for a highside repair and worked late on it for a couple of days so that i could have it back for an up comming trackday. it took 4 pretty good crashes over 2 1/2 years before i had to send it back to him. his suits are not the lightest weight out there ( especially when they are made from 3 cows and a calf)  or the softest leather but once broken in they rock.  you couldnt give me another brand intrade for my barnacle bills suit.

My Dad has a BB suit and he loves it.  He also says BB is quite a character and fun to chat with.

Oh yeah, Bill can talk:biggrin: Bill's a really cool guy and builds some very decent suits. His pricing is great, too. He's a busy dude, so make sure you ask him what his lead time is. Last time I talked to him, he was still getting orders, even mid summer.

FYI: Spyder will be building a limited number of suits for next season. Bill has been very helpful to me with advice and such.  :thumb:
