You're probably thinking about Mike Riebe. He crashed in LW GP at the May Blackhawk and messed up his leg (knee?).

I think there may be a lesson to be learned there about wearing old, thin, worn leathers.

I measured Mike up for a custom Vanson suit a number of weeks ago. He was wearing what he had in the mean time.

Glad to hear he's ok. And if they don't give him a white plate, we'll have to come up with a YPSB to put on his leathers !

Do or do not, there is no "try".

Folks,

Thanks for all the kind words - I'm doing OK. Broken collarbone, a few bruised ribs and a black eye, but overall I'm fine. I'll be back sometime later this season or next. Until then, ride fast, ride safe, and try to give the other guy a little space. See you at the track and thanks again for everyone's concern. Keep the shiny side up.

Glad your alright man.  :thumb: But what if some of us don't have a "shiny side" ?  I guess we just need to keep the rubber side down then right?  :err:

Julian,
Try the bone growing stuff out.  Rosno turned me on to it when I broke my collarbone.  It works great!!!  The bone attatched in about 12 days.  My doctor was very impressed with the speed and the manner in which the bone healed.  I started using it in 3 weeks, racing in 4 weeks.  The chemical name of the active ingredient is Microcrystilinehydroxapatite (sp?).  I bought some off of the internet, but I think it can be purchased at most drug stores.

Do you know who the other party was?  I thought I might have seen Gerald Lehmann on the ground with you, but I am not sure?  If so, is he OK?

That was Mike Rebie (AKA Yellow plated sand bagger). He was not there because of buisness obligations.  Rosno told me that the injury was a deep fleash wound from a foot peg.  The area did get infected, but has cleared up.

Where were you?

Guy

Mike Riebe was an expert in 2002.  If I remember right, he was running expert #6 in 2003 (Silver SV, Visionsports as a sponsor) .......   :wtf:

He didn't want to be an amatuer again.  Didn't hold his Expert license for the three years he was out.  Thus yellow plates this year....Mike's a cool ass guy too!

No doubt, Mike and I are good friends.  I am just busting his chops.  I hope to be able to ride with him more and learn some stuff.  He is be an excellent yard stick to see how I might stack up to the other experts.  The way things are going now I'll probibly have white plates next year.

Scott

Just got off the phone with Nate Doebert (#88) expert.

He has yet to see his bike, so he wasn't too thrilled to hear about the cracked frame!

He has a bruised lung, broken scapula, and a few broken ribs.  He got out of the hospital Monday evening and is recovering at home.

I know Mike, I just didn't know about this rule.

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.  Heal up fast everyone.
