Would you like to see your setup info along with lap times on the web?

I was checking out mylaps.com....  let's say for the sake of argument that we could get our laptimes on the web to be viewed.

Would you think it a good idea to be able to enter in your setup information for each race on the website?  That way you could possibly have a single repository for that information.

Possibly even an option to download the data into a PDA, or some other format?

Would you have the ability to view others set up's or just your own?

It could be either or... possibly the rider having a checkbox on whether or not to make it "public".

It would be kick a$$ to be able to down load lap times but I would want them public.

Lap times would be public... just questioning whether the setup info should be.

Thanks for the help...

You know nothing about the motorcycle racing industry if you think anyone that knows what they are really doing will just post it for all to see and use.  :jerkoff:

This is called racing, right?

You're right, I am just a club racer.  Not in it for the money.  But I do as a consumer know when an owner is a knucklehead... and I'll surely take my business elsewhere....

How about this... you know so much more about racing than me (that's a fact not being a smartass)... how about a constructive post on what types of things a racer may want to track?  I merely answered the other guys question about it could be possible for them to share it if they wished.

My point in this whole question is whether it would be worth it to a racer to be able to keep track of their setup (on the web for a single place of reference) as it relates to their respective track times.... do you have something to contribute to this end?

While I agree that no one will make hard earned setup information available, I think that baseline information will be given up and made public.  After all, the setup I have on my bike I know for a fact won't work for most people.  Each individual needs their own setup.  I think you have a good idea, don't be discouraged.  How many noobs post about "what gearing do I start with" or "what ride height do I start at?".

Your right...But more important and racer who asks another racer for setup information doesn't really know what they are doing...

As Larry said above, no two setups will be the same...

If anyone asks me setup information I am more than happy to give it to them...I am 5'10" and 195LBS and run Ohlins...Let them chase my settings on their bike that is setup for them at 170LBS and they have a Penske...

Helps me IMO more than them....

I agree totally with the two previous posts... Thanks for the input guys...  Of course I haven't even set the sag on my R6 yet!  :lmao:

My question is... would it be worth it for you to have that setup information for each race matched to the laptimes on the web, or would it be easier to just write it down on a sheet of paper (Excel, or whatever) then match the laptimes up that way.
