QuoteGreg what kind of KTM do you have.  I will be running my new KTM 450SMR this year.  I just brike it in at Grattan this last weekend.  I raced an SV for the last five years I know I will be getting killed in the straights.

I've got a 525, but its got the 4 speed transmission which is just killing me!  I looked into it hoping it was just a wider ratio than the 6 speed like yours has but its not.. my first 4 gears are pretty much the same as the first 4 in the 6 speed..  So I'll put a bigger front sprocket on and see what happens I guess..

Oh brother you are in trouble  ;D  The biggest sprocket that I can use in front is a 15tooth it comes stock with a 14.  If you have the same problem I suggest a rear sprocket of like 40.

and then take a couple inches out of the chain..  ;D

You may want to see how small of a rear sprocket you can run before the chain starts rubbing into the swingarm. I know that was an issue that cb186 was having when trying to gear up his YZF450 motard.

Don't give up on your dreams! If an illiterate like K3 can write a book, imagine what you can do!

that is correct Edwardo, my fine Guatamalen friend.  ;D

on my 450, i was 16T front(2 up from stock) and 38T rear(10 down from stock) when i ran it at MAM. the chain rubs the swingarm pretty bad, but i'm not sure if the KTM's have the same problem.
of course with my superbike swingarm on it, a 35T rear should work wonderfully, along with the WR 5speed in it now. ;D

while i havent been to BHF yet, i'm guessing you'd be suprised how fast a motard will be there. i was running consistant 1:44's at MAM with a stock motor, stock suspension(except for the 30wt in the forks) and being under geared because of the 4 speed. my goal is to run 1:40-1:41's at the end of the month.
i want to try to make it to Blackhawk, but the schedule isn't cooperating.
