Thanks for the replies ago.  I think I'll pick one up tonight and try the install tomorrow!!  Glad to know you have some experience with this Super Dave, so I might be PM'ing you with any problems/questions tomorrow!!  Thanks again for the help!!  I think I'll go with a class III just to be safe!!

Super Dave

For the Astro, the Class III is easier to install too.  You'll be fine.

If you were more local (ie near BHF) to me I'd put it on if you brought the hitch with ya. INstalled them for 8 yrs. Hated doing 94-98 F350 duallies. Had to drill 6 holes, move teh spare release from the rear to the front of the spare, attempt to hold teh hitch with one hand whilst putting the bolts and spacers in. All while the other guys watch because they dont want to get dirty. ;D

I bought a Reese Class III hitch, it says it fits Astro (Extended Only)* with the * meaning do not exceed 3500 lbs...should this work for just a regular Astro?  Thanks for the offer, I'm in Downers Grove, so about an hour away, if I have too much trouble with it (I don't think I should), I might take you up on that offer!! :)

All Astro vans 95 and newer (when they switched body styles) are the extended ones..  From 90-94 the extended body was an option, but it became the normal one in 95..
