What are LRRS pits like?

Hey guys,

To those of you up at LRRS:  my general question is, what are the pits like?  Specifically:

Does everyone get a garage/covered area?  Is there reliable electricity, or is a generator a good idea?  Is it big enough that a pit bike makes sense?

Thanks,
Nate

Generators not needed, outlets everywhere in 20, 50, and 100 (200v) amp service.  $10 for weekend usage, just pay the guy when they come around to collect.

Garages are for paid in advance for the entire season.  So, unless you buy one for the whole year, your only garage option is to find someone who won't be showing up and sub-let it out.  Garages have power as well as air compressor fittings.

Pit bike makes sense only if you're very lazy.  Media center, grids, tire vendors, parts places, food, bathrooms, are all an easy 3-4 minute walk.  Front registration is another story.  Some people just drive up there.

Very good -- thanks for the info.

Are there enough garages to go around at the beginning of the season, and what do they cost?

usually they are sold out to the previous year owners with zero remaining spots left.

i hear more garage space will be available this year as a lot of racers have bailed on LRRS.

Seasonal rental I believe is $1200

So . . . if you don't have a garage, what do you do?  Buy a generator, I guess!  And pit way over in the infield?

Why are people bailing on LRRS?

Thanks,
Nate

Like I said, there are electrical outlets everywhere.  They are not just in the garages.  They even have electricity on the hot pit lane.  Never seen a generator up there.

If you want to know why people are bailing, email me at adam at webcrush dot com

Your best bet is to preface every LRRS conversation/request with "Hi! I'm a friend of Adam Vella!" or "Adam Vella sent me ... " or "Hi Jerry! Adam Vella said if I mentioned his name, I could get a 25% discount at the Penguin Racing School!"

How's this:  I post to the same forum as Adam Vella!

Still curious to hear more about LRRS . . .

I have raced two seasons with LRRS and have had no issues.  My 1st season I pitted in the infield, there is power in the infield.  I now have a garage which is obviously much nicer, especially when it rains.  The garage bay is $1400 for the season.  We put 5 riders into the bay and split the cost......
