Washington runs the country.  Oil money runs Washington.  That much will never change.  Bush is at least OBVIOUSLY connected to big oil. No misunderstanding his motivations, at any rate.
Bill Clinton was a treasonous traitor who should have been dispatched by a firing squad.  Instead they busted him for having a mistress.  Why?  Because way too many other powerful people were involved in the campaign funding scandal, and it was all driven by big oil.
You do understand that big oil controls the White House AND the media, right?

I'm a little late - but:  Chris - are you out of your mind?  You'll have to explain your logic on this some time at the track.  Stability in the middle-east (objective of gulf war) will reduce oil prices.  High oil prices benefit big oil (10% profit on $3.00/gal> 10% profit on $2.00/gal).  I have no idea how big oil controls the media.  The media may be THE number one adversary of big oil.  Enlighten me.

Jeff - if you didn't vote for W the last two times, I hope you wrote someone in.

For me, it would depend on the alternative.  I'm not real happy with W's need to appease the democrats and the media.  His most lasting contribution is the additions to the Supreme Court.

This should give you an idea about the State of OUR Union, these jobs should be in the US, but you didn't hear Bush mention anything about getting our big Corporate giants to bring their businesses back here to encourage employment in our country.

I have a plan for the upcoming election. If I don't like who's running (in PA most pols cross file,  so you don't have a choice) I'll write in my own name. Our representatives (oxymoron) voted themselves up to a 34 percent raise last year. If an incumbent doesn't have anyone running against them, I'll write my own name in and let them have fun with that. If enough people do it, think of the MESSAGE that would send.
I read a book years ago called "a citizen legislature". Just like the draft of old, everyone gets a number. Every year they pull 535 numbers. When you get called it's your turn to go to Washington. You get paid the $150,000 for the year and do what you can for your country. Sounds too much like common sense to me. I don't think I could screw up the country any more than Kennedy, Biden, Kerry et all. But thats just my opinion.
