OIL LEVEL AND OIL SIZE

 ???  Hey guys just got  a race bike set up  ???. should i use  5w 40  5w 30,  keep the oil level low.    
 this bikeis suppose to be set fpr high perfom.

Well, it depends.  

If the motor has been gone through, a specific oil might be necessary.  Did you get any notes with the bike?  Would probably be important.

 ;)Hi dave!         It is a R6,   the guy how i got it from only give me a lot of words, need lot of little work, the suspension feel good, i got 47 in the rear and 15 in the front.

DO NOT RUN THE OIL LEVEL LOW!!!! I have never seen this do any good. I have seen race bikes starve for oil do to low oil level(even to the low end of the sight glass).

Dude!  It saves on weight...  Haven't you heard?  Ed Key just uses a little graphite in his motors...

Yeah, I guess I wouldn't run my R6 on the low side.  I haven't been told to do so.  I think some bikes might have a minor benefit, but you do run the risk of having problems.

I run Shell Rotella T 15W40 in my R6 or I run Shell Rotella T Synthetic 5W40 after it's broke in.  Nothing special for me.
