News Flash: Sunlight spotted!

It was only a brief sighting, but I actually saw some sunlight for about 90 seconds. It was immediately followed by the cloudy skies that have been so pervasive across this region. It's good to know the Sun still exists, though.

I was told today (don't know if it's really true) that until today we've only had 7 hours of sunshine in Chicago in the last two weeks.  That's no fun, but consider this flash from the past

A clear sky, light winds, and thick snow cover, helped produce unusually bitter cold for central Illinois. A low temperature of 36 degrees below zero at Congerville, which is northwest of Bloomington, set a new record low for the state of Illinois. Champaign and Lincoln both reported lows of 25 below zero, with 21 below at Springfield, and 19 below at Peoria.

And that's a couple hundred miles south of you!

If it makes you feel any better, it's going to be down to the mid-20's in Atlanta tonight. But yeah, I was back in Mpls. all last week and never saw the sun. I see it down here though so have faith, it'll come to the Midwest again.

I saw something in the sky yesterday but wasn't quite sure what it was. Actually not an object but just this strange glow out of the east, between the clouds.

My mom called me this morning as they were heading out of Kansas City....

Her first question to me was:  "Do you have any sunlight up there?" and then she laughs.  Mom's can be so cruel at times.   :'(

Man Iowa sucks.  It was like MAYBE 40 today but it was sunny and I was out on the bike  ;D  Man I miss summer.
