You guys crash too much  :P  I still remember all mine:

2005 - Lowsided out of the lead of the November ASMA Lightwieght Superbike race on the motard (my wife was in second at the time).  Got back up and managed to re-pass a few people.  Motards crash really well.

2004 - Highsided the motard out of the lead of the November ASMA Am. 600 Superbike race.  Last lap, coming out of the last corner.  It was 35 degrees and pouring, I was running a full rain front and a shagged DOT rear.  I had just come around the outside of three bikes in the second-to-last corner. including the second place expert.  The win would have given me the championship, instead I ended up with a broken wrist.

2004 - Lowsided the R6 at Firebird East in Am. ULGP going into the lake turn (about the fastest turn on the track, which still isn't very fast).  It was a drying track, I got a lousy start and everyone in front of me was riding like a pansy on the dry line.  Unfortunately the only place to pass them was off the dry line.  The first few passes worked out fine...  I was OK after a loooong tumble, the bike caught the curbing and flew 10 feet in the air.

2003 - Highsided the R6 coming out of the busstop at Arroyo Seco.  Landed on my head.  Concussion, and otherwise tweaked body.  After pitching me, the bike ghost rode off into the dirt and fell over with no damage.

Those are the ones that count, plus a track day crash in 2002, a cold tire crash at a school, and a whole bunch of crashes in the dirt in a few supermoto races (those seemed to happen every other lap).

QuoteAs far as crashing goes I think I'm around mid twenty something.   Worst was at BHF.  Inner cranial bleeding, two(C5-C7) vertibrea, clavical, scapula, seperated shoulder, and tweeked elbow. My left side took a beating.  ;D
Woke up at St. Anthony's in Rockford a day later.   ::)

Turn two at Blackhawk...I was right behind you as you rag dolled...

Ick...

I quick counting at 21...

That's a story by itself. ;D

Pierre - Team PMR

not too exciting for me.  Only 4.

First - 2003 Lowside at Blackhawk between 6 and 6a - target fixation...grass is kinda slick...Broke a rib.

Second - 2003 T7 at BFR, lowside.  Guy checke up in front of me..I hit the brakes and got rear-ended....re-broke that rib (a month later) - Poor Mike Firca took the chopper ride in that crash.

Third - 2005 Highside coming out of the bend at RA.  On the gas too hard, rear came around.  No injuries.

Fourth - 2005 T7 at BFR, lowside - tucked the front.  No injuries

the only other "racing" injury I had was at RA this year...got my middle finger crushed int he chain while cleaning it....i dont recomend anyone trying that

If you guys go as slow as I do you just won't crash ;D

Although it seems I'm good for one a year.

I just never kept track.

All that I know is that I am on 4 or 5 shoulder injuries.

I think I am on 7 or 8 helmets I have replaced.

1997- Entering T1 at Summit Point, just prior to my turn in point I was rear-ended by an FZR400 sliding along its side at 80mph (guy tucked the front on a cold, dew covered track) .  My GS500 was knocked right out from under me.  I landed on my back and slid feet first to the edge of the track.  No injuries but later I was feeling like I had done a serious workout.

2004- Decided to try my '85 VF500F in a race at VIR.  During practice I lost the rear in T11.  Dunlop GT501s and 20-year old suspension aren't the greatest for the track.  I slid a little on my side, got rotated and log-rolled really far, probably to at least 20ft off course.  I was really dizzy when I stood up but I managed to find the cornerworkers and give them a thumbs up.  The whole front end of the bike was really twisted up.

2005- T1 at Summit.  The 2nd practice session for my first weekend of putting my DR650 on the track.  Lost the front end on the 2nd lap-cold Trailwings were the culprit.  Scuffed my leathers, bent the handlebar and oil cooler guard and broke off the brake lever.

My SV650 has remained mint for the three years I've been racing it.

I have far more streets crashes, usually in the rain.

WOW - I'm obviously not pushing it hard enough!  Only 7 I can remember in 4 years - not counting off-track excursions where I didn't fall down.

2002 - T3 BHF lowside - ribs, concussion

2002 - T13 RA highside under the bridge - Can't believe bike was fine & I only sprained an ankle.  All kinds of funky brown stuff inside my leathers though.  I'm guessing this 'materialized' about the time I was upside down, in the air looking back (and down) at my bike speculating on how it was going to feel when I hit the track.

2003 the kink before T7 BHF - I tell you what.  My lasting impression is that crashing at 100?? mph is a whole new deal compared to 70 or 80.  Only remember the initial impact with the ground.  The bike & I were way out in the weeds.  I'm told they couldn't find me until I sat up.  Don't remember anything though until about an hour later.  Very lucky - only broken ribs, concussion.  I was a slow moving vehicle with no neck (had to turn my shoulders to look to either side) for a few weeks.  Had to get a metal detector to find the key for the bike - but I found it.

2003 - T1 BHF - lost the front with 3 laps to go - no injuries.  Was a GTU or GTO, was dicing back & forth for the lead (on an F3).  The first & last time I've ever done that except in F40.  As the crash indicates, I was in a bit over my head.

2004 entering T9 under the bridge at RA.  Had rained/died but was still a slightly wet spot under the bridge.  Lost the rear.  Very enjoyable, easy slide into the gravel.

2004 T1 MAM - Ross' bike.  Don't know how this one happened.  Was just going to take his bike for a spin, was going pretty slow coming into one (cold tires) and bam - high side.  Lower back was messed up for a good while.  Had to drive through puddles to get to the track - maybe the side of the tire was still wet.

2005 T7 BHF - Tried to take an inside line to pass, bike in front of me took away the line, had to brake so hard it flipped right over on top of me.  I was so focused on not hitting the other bike I didn't even realize it was coming up.  Saw I had him cleared thought all was well until I felt the bodywork in the small of my back.  Broken thumb (three pins), broken collar bone (plate & 9 screws), 2 broken ribs.

All of them more or less my own fault.

QuoteThird - 2005 Highside coming out of the bend at RA.  On the gas too hard, rear came around.  No injuries.

No injuries to you but the bike had a few complaints to say the least!  That thing with the finger & the chain don't sound too good either.  I did something similar but it involved running two fingers around a pulley btw the pulley & the fan belt of a running motor.  DAM that hurt.

...

Wow... Only 5 in 3 years for me...

2003~ Gingerman, Turn 7 #901 tucked the front as I was passing on the outside... He collected my Rear wheel.

2003~ BHF, Turn 7 Highside/lowside Flicked up, but not off the bike... Landed only to finish in a graceful lowside

2004~ RA, Turn 1 Highside, I was Flicked before I even knew I had done bad :(
2004~ RA, Turn 6 Lowside... It was a soft crash.

2005~ Gingerman, Turn 11, Another soft lowside ;D

No broken bones, No transports....
I think I need to push it alittle more! (who had 12 this year?)

1993 - 8 (am)
1994 - 1 (ex) worse than the 8 previous put together
2004 - 3 (all during testing  ??? )
2005 - 0 (albeit in very limited riding)

Roadbike - 4 , all of which were worse than 90% of motorcycle accidents

MTB - 4 , to be considered an actual "crash" on a MTB it has to be bad.

pit bike(s) - 3 (wheelied into a dumpster once)

Of the 8 am crashes, 7 were results of being taken out... another reason to go expert ASAP.
