Do or do not, there is no "try".

Jeff, I saw that to on Road Racing World...

That is the same weekend as the TrackAddix GP Region Events...

I think that maybe it is a typo, becuase I was under the impression that there would be no GP/MW Combined events other than RA and MAM on 4th of July weekend...

Ray has made big changes that will hopefully make HPT the home track of the GP like Blackhawk is for the MW...

But I don't "think" those dates are CCS MW Event weekends  :-[

Hopefully I am wrong...  ???

I`m sure that`s no typo. It`s a good way to get the higher costs of running HPT covered without charging racers (much) extra. Multiple region races....more riders....more $$$$.

TommyG

I bet one even ends up as an FUSA weekend! ::)

Bingo...  That's my guess too.

I'll bet you're right - I seriously doubt FUSA will run again at Autobahn!
CCS AM 815... or was that 158?

I hope you guys are right...I would love the bigger turn out...Unless things have changed...If you look at the TrackAddix site, it clearly shows which weekends ARE combined events, and which one's are not...

I hope it is the case thou  ;D

Anyone know if we'll be able to camp at Heartland Park in '06?  Last years they kicked us out by 6:00 pm every day

We were able to camp at the track this year...in 2005...Don't see why not  :)

Here is the clarification from Dean, posted on the KC Board about the HPT Event...It is not a MW Event...
:'(

"Many people have suggested making HPT a combined event with the Midwest region to increase grid sizes so we don't have to do the surcharge thing. Well folks, the whole reason we are doing this is so that Great Plains racers don't have to travel to the Midwest to race and Midwest racers don't have to travel to the Great Plains to race. Combining events kind of defeats the whole purpose doesn't it. The only reason the RA and MAM events were left on the schedule as combined events is because they have traditionally been combined events so we didn't want to change that."

Super Dave

HPT has traditionally been a combined event.

NASB ran there in 1999 and FUSA in 2003,

Scheules are subject to change, as are the costs of renting the track.  I'm sure the last word has not been heard on this.
Super Dave

Thingy

Jeff, I share your enthusiasm about HPT.  But, I thought that you did not like the long drive to MAM.  HPT is even further.

Hopefully, I will see you there. :)

It is longer, but it's a new track with a new surface...  The drive to MAM sucks, but the weekends I've had there are what really seals my dislike for the place.

Come on guys.  MAM is in my back yard and HPT's layout was awsome before.  I can't wait for the new layout.  Can't everyone just get along??

No way. If there was a main reason for combining the events it would be without a doubt MONEY. Road America is the most expensive track for ccs (other than daytona) and thats why it will always be a combined event. HPT is now second in expense in our region only to RA. I can`t beleive any surcharge will keep the weekend in the green if it`s a great plains only weekend. Same with MAM. It`s a cheaper track to rent but CRA did not invite everyone from other organizations to run the last race without having to buy a license for grins. They were afraid of low turnout and being in the red. Never forget, our hobby/love is a business for some and they want and need to make money!

Team-G

Are there any pics of the new HPT layout?  I heard there were aireal photos somewhere, but their site only has the old track on it.

cbr806

You already have to be a millionaire to run the whole MW schedule without going to HPT twice a year on top of it.  I really doubt I'll go if it ends up on the MW scehdule.

PaulV

Hey Champ,
here is an artical about the new HPT http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/article/?article=24459

sounds like it could be fun.

You guys kill me...  ::)

I get confirmation from Dean @ TrackAddix and he says that it is NOT a MW event and post that here for you guys...And your going to sit there and argue with me?

Ok...Send him and E-Mail and ask yourself...He responded to my question on the KC Race Board...I think he would know...

It is NOT a MW/GW Event...GP Only  ;)

I WISH it was a GP+MW Event, but it is not, per the information from Dean, ealier last week  ;)

No one really means to argue....I don`t think. Discuss would be a better word. CCS still holds the keys to the business so to speak. Popular opinion has it that what CCS says goes. We all know that they can change their minds....... ;D

It shows the May MAM as combined GP and MW, not the June30-July2 race
The June Heartland Park is now ASRA/TC and combined GP and MW

Only one Heartland Park is listed on the MW schedule
