I like Hallett more than I like Barber, period.

QuoteG You don't need to worry, you won't be cracking any 1:08's at Gateway.

Dean told me he wanted to put barber on the schedule but it would have been the next weekend after one of the more local races.  He is trying to keep traveling to a minimum to make it cheaper to race.  I don't really agree with RA being a GP race-I would be all for driving up there in the summer, but not in the winter...brrr!!  I also think he could have dropped whatever weekend is just before barber and included barber instead if its a track we go to more than once. Overall the schedule works well and I look forward to hitting all the dates!

Hey, you can still go to Barber.  It just won't count toward your championship points in the region you're a regular in.

There was a time when we raced where we wanted to.  This championship thing is kind of manufactured.

But I like how the GP schedule looks.  Too bad I don't live in Omaha anymore...

This is a unique opportunity for those that live in the area to be a part of something new...new schedule, new everything.

Gateway is a fun little track, just remember your racing for a piece of wood not $10,000.

1:08 is pretty damn quick at Gateway...

Super Dave

Don't think that would get you into the top five in the expert m/h/u in an expert race there anymore.

Last year I think Kevin Gordon was winning races doing 7s and 8s wasn't he?

Quote    Since I don't know anything about you I'm not sure if you have raced at any of those mentioned tracks before. Barber is a destination track for me, it's such a blast, it's very addicting if you haven't been there before. As far as distance goes I look at it like this, Hallet to Road America is Great Plaines? I can drive to Barber in about the same amount of time as someone who lives near Hallet would take to drive to Road America. Something I have learned is that the Regions don't really have boundaries where 1 starts and another begins, it's more about how many racers in a general area of the US will travel to what tracks?
Unfortunatly my track time budget died in '03 when I got laid off.  I've been trying to recover ever since.  But I do understand the destination thinking.  I have a number of friends who are all over me to ride Barber.  My track time has been limited to trackdays at Gateway....yeah, yeah, I know.  Atleast I got some great rain riding experience  ;D

Motorcycling is not, of itself, inherently dangerous. It is, however, extremely unforgiving of inattention, ignorance, incompetence, or stupidity

In 2002 my man Monte Nichols was doing 5's and 6's to win races.
