Time to ask, white or yellow?

Dude, I owe you a 12 pack. I was about to fine- tune my RC 51 for some Super Twins racing for next year. Now, I think twice and three times about the new Yamahas. I have more fun on twins though. Guess I answered that question, kind of...

But, did I ever wanna go Expert/Pro in the first place? How does one get an AMA license for Motards? Petitions taken in lieu of points?

   Nothing like early morning ramblings...babblebabblebabble...

Mark Bernard

If you think your ready and don't have the required points you can always petition to go Expert.

Section 2 rule 2.2.6 B.) "Amateur riders who wish to be upgraded must show a history of top finishes, particulary where Experts and Amateurs run together as wall as a good safety record."

If you really want to go Expert, all you have to do is ask when the list comes out.

AMA license for Motard? I don't know that one. Super Dave might know.

QuoteShit man, what's the deal there? Any idea on the rationalization of that?

Actually, the rationalization is pretty understandable. But I'm not sure whether that has anything to do with obtaining the expert plate, although you might be able to use it as a loophole to remain a YPSB.

SuperTwins, Thunderbike and F-40 are bike specific/age specific classes, and thus are not counted toward overall points in obtaining an
overall championship. ( #1 plate) Like I said, I don't think would have bearing on the AM to EX question. Ask Kevin, as he will be the ultimate authority on this issue.

Do or do not, there is no "try".

Uh-huh, I read the 8.2.3 , at least from the '04 RuleBook. The said classes are excluded from points accumulation for tallying, as Alexa points out, an overall championship. However, are they also excluded from figuring the Am--->Expert movement? Oh jeez...

Historically the grids for these classes have been really small. It's not fair to count these in the overall points. Example: Top 10 Middleweight rider in a 30 bike grid vs slow F40 guy in a 3 bike grid. Who would win in overall points?

QuoteIts about time !!!   ;)

LOL...I protested the year before...ready now!!  Maybe we can do some Team Challenge in 06 at VIR or SP.  Do they have a LW class?

gpstar1

Yes they do have LW team challenge.  Brad Faas asked me if i wanted to do a team challenge with him next year on his R6, but i think i may like doing a team challenge better on an SV. Its just that i have been riding twins for so long now and i think i would do better on a twin ( no offense brad). So yeah look me up or i'll look you up as it gets closer to spring.

Whats wrong with the 600's Chris? I understand if you like the motorcycle with brakes that are lacking and suspension that looks like Frankenstein.  ;D J/K dude. Good luck in the Ex Lightweight Classes next year. I think you will do well. Maybe bump up to a Buell? It seems that all the faster guys in the Expert group are on Buells (except for Ed Key).
