I would agree with the monster 750. Bought one for my wife when I was married.  It was a really fun bike and there is a ton of parts to customize it as she grows into it.  They made a 620 also.  I think it had a lower seat height, but this one was pretty gutless and I think she would outgrow it fast.  Plus, can you ever really bet a duck?

I just went thru this with my 16 year old daughter.  First the MSF course, then a 1999 SV650.  At 5'3" and 120lbs she had a hard time with stopping if the ground was uneven at all.  She did her first trackday this way and actually dropped the bike twice while stopping on uneven ground.

I have now removed nearly 3 inches of foam from the seat at its far easier for her to handle it.

Im so proud of her!

Duh...dirt bike, dirt bike, dirt bike.  Get her a$$ on an enduro, and falling over and giggling!  Cheap on bodywork, fun on the street, not intimidating, easy to handle, super light, easy on the pocket book, and they are easy to sell.  Plus, she can zip around on a supermoto track, roadrace track, trails.  Hmmmm, all areas covered.  Unless she's all superficial and sportbikey  ::).  And if the enduro is too tall, friggin' lower the thing.  A used button start 450, or something of sorts.  If she gets bored with it, then raise it back up and send her to the motocross track...that'll cure any boredom on two wheels (and scare the crap outta her). :P
Ciao, Rhiannon :-*
