QuoteYou can ride and ride and ride and do the same thing that you've done...done wrong...and you'll just reinforce things.

I know you've said this before, as have I, but I do want to point out that this could be the most profound statement ever made...

Dave, Are you really racing the 200 this March? I was thinking about doing it as well, but I have never ridden Daytona.. So i'm not sure plus it would be an expensive weekend....

It's my plan.  Was going to do it in 2005, but that burned down.  Did win two races there anyway on a little bike.

It's a lot bigger than a weekend.

My take on Daytona.

I was asked to ride a vintage bike at Daytona for this guy...  http://worldmotorcycles.com/Pages/daytona.html

He was pretty confident, and I had a good feeling about it, but I told him point blank, "Daytona sucks...unless you win.  Even then..."

Took three tries for us to finally get a win, then we got two.  Took me eleven years of going to get my win, so he had it easy.

A wise sponsor told me once, "Daytona isn't necessarily about winning, it IS about being there.  You have to try."

The track is different now.  Don't know what it's like on a decent production bike.  Pretty slow on a 125 in the infield, I know that.
