How many races do you run per weekend??

And Why??

TZDeSioux

I run 3 races a weekend. I run GTU, MWGP, and LWGP. I would run more if my bike were allowed to run in more classes. On the Team Challenge weekends, I usually run ULGP to avoid the combined expert/amateur GTU race.

And Why??

I usually run four races per weekend.

Why four? Because I can't afford five...   ;D

TZ250s can run 5 classes, UL, MW and LWGP, GTO and GTU.

I like to ride 4 : ULGP, LWGP, GTO, GTU

Same here.  Four because I can afford no more...

KBOlsen

Six.  Because that's all there is.
CCS AM 815... or was that 158?

I ran 1.

Why to save the bike and focus on one class.  I saved an enormous amout of cash doing that and was able to take my class.

Jeff

Depends on what my sponsors can foot for me...

Ran 3 last year.  The GT race is a must for at least 1 of them because of the track time.

Considering a 4th class this year, but will have to carefully evaluate the impact to tire budgets as well as oil/gas/etc...

I ran 3 most of last season but tried 6 for the last race at Firebird.  I'm too outta shape to run more than 3 effectively and will probably stick to that this year unless I start training a bit.  Last year I ran MWSS, MWSB and MWGP but since I have more variety of bikes this year I will likely run ULGP, SuperTwins and LWGP.  I can't wait til I get to put the lil 125 up against the 1000's in ULGP, it could be interesting.

am125ike

started with 4 (2 sat.,2 sun.)
got tired of talkin to all the people in the pits and hearin and smellin all the other races goin on, wanted to run for top ten overall in points (peanut gallery wait your turn) and bumped up to 6 (3 aday) fun and tiring/draining..
but nonetheless points hungry/greedy (i finished 6 in the blackhawk track final) (that feels good) but as i am truly truly dreamin of amatuer overall champ
i am also dreamin that i will try 9 races on some weekends (and oh yes, i will be exercising this old arse fart of a body)

as we all are saying, you gotta get there, feel it out, and please YOU.

you race as many as you can, cuz it's fun as hell!!!!

Ran 2 or 3 per weekend this year. I raced on Sat. only. Will race 3 next year. F40, GTU, and MWGP. (If there all on Sat. again) If I stay for Sunday, I'll race MWSS, HWSS, and HWSB.

FUBAR606

ULGP is expert only in 2003????

Or is that a regional thing?

KBOlsen

Don't forget Unlimited SuperSport...

What happened to AM ULGP????  Jim, unless they got rid of this, you should be able to run in 5 classes.

Decreasing_Dave

To my knowledge, they still have, or at least HAD, the AM ULGP.  The GSXR750 is eligible. ;D

Gixxer124

My bad. I was looking in a 2001 rulebook. :-[
You can run in ULGP and UL Supersport  as an amateur. (I ran in one of those at Hallett this year :-[ :-[)

You can't race a 125 in unlimited per the rules, and even if you could you would be endangering the lives of everyone else in the class.

sdiver68

Probably go for 6 or so again this year, which is where I was about mid-season and on last year.  Make sure you are in shape if you want to do both GTO and GTU !

Do every race you can.  More seat-time/experience you get, the faster you get.  The quicker you get the seat time, the quicker you'll be upfront 8)

Depends on the bikes I've brought to the track

In 2001 with the superbike SV's at the track I ran 5 races a weekend normally.

  GT Lights
  Heavyweight Sportsman
  LT Superbike
  LT GP
  Supertwins

That year I generally ran a superbike SV for the season.  Plus I dragged out my R6 for a while .... gawd I hated that bike.

Then I added GTU, MWSS, MWSB.  I found that I was switching between too many bikes and running myself ragged.  (Tire changes, minor maintenance, tire warmers, etc.)

In 2002 I had 3 bikes again.  (SV650, SV700, and GSXR750)  Since I was not running a full race season...I didn't care about points etc.  So if I felt tired or frustrated...I skipped the race.  To quote Steve Harris of Team Charm fame...."More fun, less stress".  Soo....I'm not particularly fast on the 750 yet...but it's fun.

This coming year...who knows.  I have a pair of SV700 superbike engines laying around...and a supersport one as well.  Then there's the old trusty stead...the 750.  Maybe I'll learn to ride it eventually....it could happen.  really.

As many as you can afford...lol ;)
I ran 9  races the  Sept 8-9 weekend at BHF.  And with all of the track problems Saturday >:( I was forced to run 7 races Sunday.  It kept me busy!! ;D ;D
All on one bike (R6) and one set of tires.  Next year when I do it again I'm gonna use a couple sets of tires ;) ;)
