Remember, I live up north for a reason....   ;)

So I went back to Autobahn today, just to have Tom Mason change a tire for me.  While he was swapping the tire, Edgar crashed.  Deja Vu!  Isn't this how yesterday started?  I helped him get it back together, took my tire, and headed for the gate.  On my way out, there was Don Cook putting HIS bike back together!  Don said he had it about fixed, so I ran for my life.  Before I got home, I got a call on my cell phone that Ike managed to crash his bike again....  If I hadn't left when I did, I'd probably STILL be there, fixing bikes by flashlight!

All I know is that next time I crash, there'd better be a WHOLE CROWD of guys putting MY bike back together!
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

Eeesh.  I think Ike was doin' good until something happened.  He looked fine.

My little tuck of the front end in the morning race while avoiding traffic ahead gave me the opportunity to work on my bike all day in the heat. If everything happens for a reason, the only thing I can figure I that God didn't want me distracted by all the pretty young things in their itsy bitsy summer clothes.

Never mind, I got it back together and got third in the LW Superbike.  Ed Key was up in first but Johnny Moore and I had a fun battle for second.  Side by side at the white flag all the way down the straight headed for that @)*&$ dam kink before T2.  I'm thinking to myself "Well, here's a nice game of chicken!"  Then my second thought was "You know, we could both decide to give at the last minute and back off, still finding ourselves side by side through this darn thing.  I gave way deciding I could do it again on the final turn to the checkered and might get by him.  I was on his butt all the way around, but ran just a tad wide on the left hander (T7?) and lost a few yards, pooching the set up for the drive through the last double apex.  I had to settle for third on his tail.

Fun race!

Quote(Who'd have thought that there was such a thing as pulse wave plasma glue?  And who'd have expected that it would be so effective at bonding unobtainum to megalightum?  I must admit though, that those "Property of CIA-AREA 51 / unauthorised posession punishable by evisceration" warning stencils on Ed's spares boxes had me a bit spooked....)

Ed's SV is super trick, no doubt. That made beating him in GT Lights aboard stone-axe simple (and heavy) Milwaukee iron all the sweeter.

Special thanks to Super Dave for the quick set up lesson and words of encouragement at the last Blackhawk. It helped!

Looking forward to Mid-America...

Chris, I could have used your services after I did my best impression of Steve Rapp piling his brake lever into the back of John Koscinski at Road America. In my case, I hit Greg Avello so hard at the start of the Thunderbike race in T1 that my brake lever ended up broken off and embedded in his tail section.

That was a pretty cool trick Paul ;D  Thought you might want to mount that lever on a stand or something as a momento!

Turns 1 and 2 hsd their hands full both days with pickups.  Not 1, but 2 aborted 2 wave starts for the weekend.
