I raced the 99 Australian GP on a 250GP bike and was a Bridgestone Australia rider and we talked Bridgestone Japan into bringing a few tires over and they brought 15 front and 25 rear tires for me to 'test' for them.....I think i used 4 total, 3 of them were fronts that i chunked (i shit you not), sometimes testing tires can be a little scary  :o

Super Dave

I raced for Avon in 1994.  Certain tires they were scared to let me use...

And a certain times, I was scared to use some tires...LOL!

Yeah....1200 tires.  Wow!

Jeff, maybe if you had a bit bigger budget for your program for podium finishes, or near the podium, at MotoGP events.

didnt qualify by 0.52 second, having to run unleaded FIM spec gas caused havoc for all the wildcards, by the time we cheated and went back to leaded gas for the last qualifying it was too late.  I ran 1.39's at the National round a few months before.  Roger Harrison was the only wildcard to finish the race that year.  I did get to hang out with Alex Hoffman for a while when we were doing a parade lap in the new BMW Z3 :)

QuoteJust curious - where are you in this list?

Really?

Bring your cash.

My money's on Clarkie...

Aaron has plenty of creds to back himself up.  A few racers might actually do a FUSA race.  Fewer do a FUSA season.  Fewer riders to an AMA race.  Even fewer do a season.

How many wild card entries are there into an FIM World Championship Road Race?  Aaron had one....

Better yet...

Where are your regional results?

Thanks Dave, not qualifying was a real bummer, top 3 National riders in Aussie get a wildcard and there are 1-2 'invatation' spots as well which Kevin Curtain and Jay Taylor got both of those spots as Kevin was the 600 champ (i think) and Jay was the current or former 125 Champ.

I like the way regular readers (or posters) log on with a new name to throw shit at someone, we put in one hell of an effort but at the end of qualifying i didnt get it done so we drank a lot of burbon and partied with the GP guys anyway maybe next time i will just blame the tires for not qualifying, around here it seems that blaming someone other than yourself is a common practice  ::)

It was prety cool just being part of the show, there are some pretty big names in the rider list, a mate of mine actually learnt Italian just so he could say hi to Rossi........ problem was he said hi when he, Rossi and Melandri were all taking a piss, i guess Italians dont like guys talking to them in the bathroom either  ;D

Yeah, and that's why I think there are a whole lot of Australian riders with rides in the US.
