Can anyone tell me why CCS does not run Pocono? I remember maybe 4 years ago an FUSA race was held there but nothing since.

I got the answer from tiffany - It's not profitable to run at Pocono.

Damn! That sucks! I remembered when they used to have races there ( when I was a spectator) and I was looking forward to racing that some day, since its so close to home. I'm suprised they don't run there, they got a fairly large turnout of racers and spectators, along with radio advertisement for the race. Oh well, that tracks not in the best of shape anyways for roadracing. Hopfully that track in Jersey goes somewhere in the next couple of years.

From what i've heard from racers that used to run there, the FUSA weekend was a huge spectacle.  Large crowds, great spectator turnout and alot of fun.  Alot more going on than you see at a typical FUSA weekend nowadays.

I think Pocono just started charging a ridiculous amount of money.

I was a spectator at the last race. the weather sucked but there was still a ton of spectators. Not to mention allot of venders. I have ridden the big track at pocono with reduc a couple of times and the seams going on and off the straigts are kind of hairy. But I have to say It's a fun track and the facility is nice. I would be willing to volunteer to help promote the event to help offset the cost. Philly has allot of riders in the area and it sure would be nice to have a short drive to long pond instead of summit.

The biggest thing is like you chris the track is a couple of exits up the north east extension from me. it is such a convenient location. We really need a track to race on in PA, NJ.

Hmmm, I wonder how hard / how much it can it be to build one.

DUDE! Believe me I would LOVE to build my own road course, hell i'll even help you build it,  but if you have a couple million sitting around, have some connections with state and local goverment, and have land with the right zoning, you'll have no problem. Raush creek raceway near pottsville was supposed to be built a couple of years ago, but the people behind the track keep going broke. The track in Jersey near millville sounds pretty promising.  They just have to get through some local government B.S. and they can start breaking ground. Fingers Crossed!!
