The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

you forgot to mention:

Racers were turned away from the gates after 9pm on friday night, force to sleep in thier truck or find a hotel.

The tire guy was selling the michelin PR medium tires for the PR2/PR4 prices.

The Pit IN and Pit OUT are horendelsy dangerous (as usually for an Alan Wilson track)

The Curbs are 8 inches tall with about a 45 degree rake.   (Poor Rich found out what happens when foot peg meets curb)

The corner workers didnt understand how bad it was to leave a motorcycle 20 feet off the track in a direct impact zone.

Last call for the advanced group meant you could wait another 5 minutes to go out on the track. (we bought tire warmers for no reason i guess)

Turn 2 (or 3) run off consisted of a hay bail and a guard rail.  (the rest of the track has great amounts of run off!!! no walls !!)


Other than that, it was fun!

Did you talk to Monte or Bonnie about the tire price issue?  Did you talk to Monte or Bonnie about leaving a downed bike in the direct impact zone?  

Anyway, what I am trying to say is Monte and Bonnie ran great trackday event, and are very willing to listen to real problems and constructive suggestion and improve farhter more.  

Since this is the first time they have run an event at Autobahn, they have a lot to learn about it as well.  Give them your concerns and I believe you'll see improvement being made in your next trackday there with them!   ;)

Yes i did talk to them.  Im not downing them,  just telling the facts.

I found out last weekend that they gave me the wrong tires.

Everytime I read about close to freezing temps in April/May, ... I'm glad I moved from Chi-town to DC.

That's what I wanted to know, Steve...

Haven't found Alan Wilson tracks to be the most logical.  Dangerous, no less.  Wouldn't you like to take his as$ for a ride on the back of a bike around a track?

The question is why are people keep hiring him for the design job if most if not all of his design is dangerous and isn't logical?  Isn't there any other track layout designer out there?

I rode the South course last weekend at the WERA event.  Pit in/out was better, but the track was bumpy.  So much so, you could see the depression in the track.

It was fun, fast, but still kind of dissappointing because of the bumpiness.

Yes, Ed Bargy of Ed Bargy Riding/Racing Schools.  Good guy.  Under utilized.
