I've heard that Double Bubble screens are not allowed in CCS is this true?  &

What are the requirements for safety-wiring a 2003 R6?  Please dont post the rulebook, I've read it....and Ive done most of the safety-wiring listed already but I just wanted to double check....(i.e. pinch bolts, water pump bolt, etc)

Thanks

CCS allows double bubble screens in all classes.  It's WERA that doesn't allow them in superstock classes.

For safety wiring- to be CCS legal you need:
Oil drain
Oil filter
Oil fill
Oil dipstick
Water pump drain

That said, on my bikes I have a lot of other stuff safety wired that I would rather not have fall off:
Calipers
Axles and pinch bolts
Header bolts
Exhaust mounts
Silencers
Exhaust springs
Footpeg bolts
Hose clamps
Powervalve pulleys...the list goes on.

CCS allows them, WERAdoes not allow them in superstock.

Safety wire :
all oil drain(s) and fill(s)
oil filter (if you have one)
oil cooler lines
cooling system drain

Perfect reply...thank you very much...

I have a bunch of other stuff safety-wired also but talking to some wera guys that did their sprockets, etc...seemed a little extreme and a pain...

Thanks again

it may be an extreme pain to wire it all...but it would be more painful if something falls off during a race...
that said...bought my bike with the whole darn thing wired up... ;D

:o :o  YOU SHOULD WIRE UP EVERYTHING THAT YOU DON'T WANT COMMING LOOSE AT SPEED, UNLESS YOU WANT A $4000 HELICOPTER RIDE. ;) ;)

I've always had the essentials wired...I was just checking for requirements...thank all but if I was worried about my sprocket or pinch bolts coming out...I wouldnt be on the track...or I would damn sure figure out a better pre-flight... ;)

In my humble opinion...
CCS requirements are pretty thin
Wera goes overboard

The toughest bolts you'll ever pull out will be exhaust header bolts (from heating/cooling).  Yet WERA and Fasttraxx requires them wired.  Why?

I'll gladly (and do) wire my pinch bolts, caliper bolts and axle bolts, but draw the line at the new WERA requirement for wiring the tires to the rims...

I got dinged at WERA or FASTTRAXX (I forget which) for not having safety wire on my grips.  I urged the inspector to try and remove them with the grip glue I had on.  He couldn't move them, but required me to wire them 'just in case'...  In case of what?!?  A fire that somehow loosens the glue bond?

Ditto... I would rather race a bike to WERA specs than the other. Just my $0.02 worth. ;)

FYI,  WERA no longer requires the wiring of header nuts...

WERA does not require the header bolts to be safety wired!!  They changed that rule!
WERA has never had me safety wire my grips!
I've never seen that in the rulebook either!
