Howdy All:

Anyone going to Pocono this weekend? It's the first time my brother and I will be working up there and wondered if anyone else was going or had any pointers...

thanks

Bring lots of water. No matter what station you have the view is great. Unfortunately this track usually brings out lots of carnage. Tuen 1,6,7, & 10 usually see lots of wrecks. Bring gloves that can handle heat for picking up bikes.

I have a pair of Mechanix but I think I'll bring a pair of heavy duty work gloves as well...

Sunscreen is a big check...lots of water is a big check.  I hope water will be passed out at the worker meeting but if not I might have to bring a couple jugs of it.

weather forcast sounds a little ify so I'll bring my full rain suit.

sounds like it'll be a blast...hopefully I'll get to flag...

Update on Pocono..

WOW!  What a weekend...Poopie weather on Saturday. I think we got two practices in before the fog set in.  Then it would rain and break the fog and then the fog would come back thicker and then it would rain again and the fog would come back so thick I almost couldn't see my pick up guy across station 3 from me.  Forget about seeing one station forward...

Sunday was spectacular. Nice breeze...beautiful sun and lots of hard racing.  All of the racers were so nice in the pits after the race.  Even got a few autographs for my worker shirt(yeah!!  ;D)

Thanks to the PA Posse for letting the MARRC boys come play.  As always you guys are welcome at Summit any time!

Well from me to all of you, great job! I had my best racing weekend ever #167 yellow plate.

Pete,

I'm glad you did well!!  I got to work turn 10 and turn 3.  I can see why you guys don't like the track surface!!  The transition in 10 was nasty to say the least and with the track weeping on the diamonds in 10 it was an accident waiting to happen.  Thurs and Friday's practices put a nice layer of rubber down on the paint but Saturday's rain washed it away and that led to alot of downed bikes on Sunday.  I can see now why you guys don't like to it too much.. alot of nasty surface problems. Hell we had to clean goose crap off 3 Sunday morning...

Funny thing is I love that track. Always have.
