This machine looks incredible, and it fits into the lightweight class fair and square.

SV650 riders start crying/complaining NOW!   :twofinger:

Damn you have to admit this looks awesome.

Now   THAT   is   ART !

Quote... also introduced a new 660cc, parallel twin mill, designed after the V4 cut in half. ...
hmmmmm.....   but they did not go with a V-2 ?

QuoteAprilia chose a twin-parallel for its compact size and its low weight, elements that should contribute to making the future RS a lightweight mid-sizer

100 hp and 330 pounds.   :woohoo:

Price, um...  :err:   Not posted yet but I look at the specs and I'm thinking $10K-$12K.  But you think about what people are dumping into their race bikes and it's not really that bad.  This is a bike that isn't going to need anything but race fairings.

Will also be legal for Moto America Twins class, but like the KTM, might fail to be homologated if it's too fast. :(

This article on the RS 660  https://www.bikewale.com/news/39142-aprilia-rs660-to-debut-by-the-end-of-2019.html

says
QuoteIt will also debut the manufacturer's active aerodynamic system which changes angles on the winglets to adjust according to the level of drag and downforce
Sounds expensive.

I'm looking for the old discussion of the Aprilia SV650 category bike from years ago.  Unsure if that was the Shiver or something even prior to 2008.

Since I made this post, The bike has been made to be a 2021 model, (and who can blame them with 2020 become a huge sh1t fest for the world) but it is definitely real and we now have ride reports.

2021 Aprilia RS 660 Sport Middleweight First Ride - posted in September

Looks awesome, and it may be as good a street bike as a race bike.

It would require manufacturing two new cylinder heads rather than one coming from the basis of the V-4?

Whew...  $11k

Not too bad for the spec of components.  Glad to see middleweights take this direction.  I've personally had enough of gutless 600's that only make power when you wring their necks.  With this bike pick a gear and torque out of corners with ease.

When did this kind of bike become a middleweight?  :)
