Is it just me or is Kurtis Roberts....

a big whiner?  I mean he actually said that he thought Gobert caused him to lose the race?!?!  ::)

I could understand if he was in the lead, and someone cut him off, and it allowed the other riders to catch up, but he wasn't leading when it happened and he eventually caught back up, and actually lead the race after the incident.

I won't comment on Kurtis' attitude, but I think his plan was to be in 3rd place at the start of the last lap, but Miguel wasn't having that.  Miguel forced Kurtis around him into turn one by just checking up enough to make Kurtis bite.  Miguel was definitely in a great position in the end.  It was nice to see Miguel finish a race after having problems the last two years.

I wonder if Kurtis is related to Jimmy Spencer, Robby Gordon and Geoff Bodine of Nascrap fame? HE seems to whine and complain like those guys do. ::)

You actually watch enough NASCRAP to know who whines???

I think what Kurtis meant (not that I agree with him) was that the time he lost would've been the difference in the race.  If he was able to go fast enough to catch back up, maybe he would've been fast enough to get a gap and run away with it.  Again, not that I agree, but I think that was his thinking.

See, I've always seen him that way.  Him along with Carl Fogerty.  Were they excellent racers?  Sure!  Did they ever take responsibility for not winning a race?  Hell no!

I agree that it takes talent, a factory bike (or alot of $ invested in a bike), and a little luck to run in the front of any Pro race nowadays. Just as lapping the slower racers is part of racing, so are the misfortunes of not having everything go exactly as you want. In my opinion the person who can fight thru adversity, still come out on top, and look back on it as though it was a challenge, has their priorities in order. Kurtis projects this attitude that he is supposed to be the winner, because of his dad accomplishments, and any looser that doesn't have a family name in racing shouldn't be there in the first place. From the very first time I ever saw an interview with him I thought that he was a stuck-up cry baby that wasn't living up to daddies expectations and has to blame someone else for standing in the way of his success due to the fact that he didn't win every race he ever entered.
I believe that even if Kurtis does win the championship that I won't ever look at him as a champion, but instead as a whiny little brat that needs to grow up and accept the fact that he is not his Dad, or his brother for that matter! The way they are talking in the media, this is the 'make or break' year for Kurtis that will determine any future advancement into WSB or MotoGP. For his sake I hope he learns some humility and doesn't throw away the opportunity he has before him. Kurtis needs to learn that it's more than just crossing the line first - it's about being a true winner that steps up to the challenges thrown at him!

You all saw the replay. Gobert was no where near him going into the chicane. He got spooked and ran off. He's a pussiassbiatch. He needs an ass whoppin. Duhamel is starting to look like Robin Williams.

That's too funny, I bought the DVD of his career and every time he didn't finish first it was the tires, the bike, the setup, blah blah blah blah.

I admire people like "Zemke" I think it was who crashed in the first turn of the last race and was in the running for winning the championship. He crashes gets back up, rides the wheels off his bike and manages to finish 4th, (maybe it was 3rd can't remember) not far behind the leaders. Every corner sparks coming from his boots, just tearing things up. Pure concentration and dedication. It was the Corona bike in the AMA 600 at VIR I think was the race. Don't remember saw it at the end of the season and have been waiting to see it again and tape that race. :D

Well years ago. Last watched a whole season in 92. Wasnt the same after Kulwicki died. But Spenser and Bodine were total crybabies back then and they havent changed in teh few times I watched a race every so often. Robby Gordon, well that loser was like that when he did a few SCCA races after his offroading days ended.

I say we give Kurtis Roberts' ride to Barney...he'd ride the wheels off of it and if he didn't win just come back for more next week...and he'd actually enjoy himself, not like the little whiner.  Hell...give ME his ride...at least I'd admit I suck and try to get better. ;D
