Sorry to hear this Jim,

Hope you are healing well.

1 question
if you were purchasing a new bike/snowmobile/car, who's insurance would cover your test drive......?

Thanks paul

and I know my insurance covers me on rental cars. and when you test drive a car from a dealership Im sure they have their own insurance ordeal all figured out. and if you are gien permision by a private party to test drive something and you crash it. my insurance company said by them giving me permision to test driving it they are automaticly accepting the risk and responsibilities that go along with that. I also talked to a lawyer and he said the same thing. I think what I decided I am going to end up doing and just saving up and paying the kid.

Damn Jimmy, you done good this time.

We've been wondering where you've been. Scotty told me you were only wearing shorts and a t-shirt? WTF's up with that? He did say you at least had a helmet on.

I hope you've learned a lesson here.

OK, I'm off my soapbox now.  :preachon:

I hope your feling better and get your shit in order and join us on the track, in proper safety gear that is.  8)

NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO hes got that alll wrong.  I was wearing boots jeans gloves helmet and layers of t-shirts. only thing I messed up on was not wearing a jacket, cus it was like 90 degrees out. I have never been on a bike in shorts before. I usually always wear a jacket too but it was hot and my zipper broke day or two before the crash.

Are you guys doing some sort of shop night still chuck?

All right, I'll cut you some slack then.

Naw, the owner thought it was getting too popular and shut us down. Pat even had to get all his race stuff out of there also. We either meet at my place or Graham's depending on what were working on.

Maybe try telling the ins. you bought the bike, don't you have like 24 hrs. grace time, I know too late now but for next time if this happens to someone else

If the kids bike wasn't paid for I am sure he had full coverage. Then you pay the deductable, hitting something in the road (i.e. gravel, deer) is covered under comprehensive not collision.

no he had liability and they didnt cover shit. and he owed like 10,500 on a 06 gsxr600 with only bare minumum insurance. I finaly convinced my insurance to cover the bike. so i think they are goign to pay off what the bikes worth. but they havnt looked at the bike yet so we will see. its all still pending.

Not that it changes anything or undoes the damage -

How in the hell can he owe $10.5K on an '06 GSXR 600?  Must have had a lot of squidly baubbles on it that he financed!

Good thing whoever he got the loan thru wasn't aware he only had liability coverage!

I think the new thing is to get the introductary financing with "LOW LOW PAYMENTS FOR THE FIRST YEAR" fine print reads then we're going ot bend you over with finance charges and interest rates.  Don't ask me how I know :banghead:

With INS rates the way they are for young guys Suzuki introduced the "You don't need insurance" clause in their contracts.  Its just begging for stuff like this to happen and then the bill still has to be paid

I had a friend that lived in little rock leave his brand new GSXR outside his apt one night.  Went out the next morning to ride it to work...hey look its gone.  Well at least insurance will cover it....nope....liability only.  So now every month he writes his check for a bike that he no longer has :kicknuts:

I think I would shoot my self if that happen. Yea well my  insurance covered it thank god. and now my insurance payment is guna go through the roof. it was 1800 annually, before I reported this accident. funy thing is this is my first accident on the street on a motorcycle and never gotten a ticket on a motorcycle either. in four years of riding on the street. but i got 9 tickets and 3 accidents in my car, so that kills it. So technically if I woud of only drove a bike I would have a perfect driving record hah. dam cars. lol
